I love being approached by these dodgy people.
Normally in a service station car park or in a retail centre car park someone will drive up to me and I'll say:
"Do you want directions or are you trying to sell me a laptop, dvds or some clothes?":D
The guy then says: "I'm not selling anything................... but I've got a laptop for sale." [shows me a branded laptop on his passenger seat].
"Is it a real laptop or do I get a cheap laptop bag with bottles of water or books in it? I'm a Police Officer mate, get lost!" (I'm not really a copper):rotfl:

This thing has been around a long time. Got the same line about a year ago on 2nd Avenue around E. 32nd. Guess he figures if someone is dumb enough to pay Manhattan rents, he will buy anything. Probably true.:p0

We were flagged down and told a sob story about the guy needing money for petrol to go to his son in hospital. He would give us a "solid gold' ring in exchange for cash! Fortunately I am a fan of Real Hustle and we did not bite!0

What on Earth were you searching for to find this old thread and why were you searching for it?0 -
my work colleague fell for this yesterday in a service station on the M62 in cheshire not sure of the name.
same story about flying home needed the money to pay the car hire. I was on the phone at the time came off and the deal had been agreed 3 coats for 150. He didnt know they were "designer" he just wanted the leather coats.
Well once the money had passed i have never seen someone drive so fast lol. my colleague is happy with the products so that is all that matters.
oh the italian guy showed his passport business card etc. The car was a black fiat punto if that helps anyone0 -

but they are not even leather are they?
Maybe, maybe not - if they are leather, they are likely to be second hand (maybe from Charity shop?). The ones you are shown by the 'seller', and the ones you get given if you agree to buy, are the not the same."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
If they look real enough................................
..................................Then I guess Woohoo:D
