I ran out of wood pellets and had to buy a bag of thomas cat litter from the petrol station, I'm seriously considering swapping, with 3 cats now, the wood pellets just turn to a yellow soaked mush @ the bottom and it is impossible to scoop properly.

I have 1 big hooded tray and 2 regular sized trays...Will have to see the cost.

Friday Cat - I know I know, saw the offer yesterday grrrr LOL

Rising - OkoPlus texture is like wood pellets actually, imagine those broken into 2 pieces each - that is about the size of Oko Plus.

Buttonmoons - are yo afte clumping or non clumping?

I was very happy with wood pellets one when I had one cat - with 4 cats it is just no good at all.

Of course, all cats are different, but I'd expect that to last at least 6 - 8 weeks - don't forget you don't need to completely empty the tray as often as you would have done with your previous litters. ;)

I did not empty often with my previous liter either, the ones I was using are excellent but I am turning towards the Oko Plus I must say....

Much more tracking than my previous ones, MUCH more - got those pellets absolutely all over the place but my cats ARE diggers so......

Will just see how it lasts, this will be the real deal sealer or braker for me.

That is what it looks like:

My previous ones were ike sand consistency, VERY fine granules.

Oko looks like wood pellets one but smaller pellets.
  • mmmmm that looks similar to the stuff I used when I first had Smudge ..... it tracked really badly which is why I switched to wood pellets.

mmmmmm undecided ..... just checked & you can get it at PAH - up in town on Sunday & will be very near so I may pop in and buy a bag to try (know it will be slightly more expensive)

Just remember - 10 litre bag is 4.8kg so not too heavy to carry. I weighted the first bag I ordered just to check what 10 litres of Oko Plus weighted.

Some litters are 1litre=almost 1 kg but not this one, very light.

But tracking - a nightmare, much worse then my previous one...

Perhaps it is my cats only.. sigh....

I have to say that I have not yet done a FULL litter change in about 4 months of using the OKO, it just does not need it so there is no wastage. It is over a moth since I bought the last 40l bag, both trays are full up and there is at least half a bag left still. My lot mostly poop outside but like to wee inside so I do scoop a fair bit of pee every day with 6 of them.

Do yours dig a lot out/track it out on their paws?

Mine are just terrible with this litter...

Wow! that's pretty good going :D

I've got 2 trays on the go just now - cats still not getting on (understatement:() so have one in the lounge (wee cat) and upstairs (big cat) which is a pain in the "what not" but I am using less litter which is a bit puzzling ......

Think I'll def be popping into PAH to get a bag to try if it's lasting 6 cats over a month!:T

It lasts my 5 two months (more when I get freebies from Z+ :rotfl:), but admittedly my Harry boy rarely uses the trays.

As for tracking? I don't find it that bad, certainly no worse than other litters, I have yet to find one that doesn't track at all. But I do have covered trays and mats at the entrance/exit which catch 80% of the stray pieces, and then I just empty them back into the litter trays ;)
