I am in or just outside Ipswich too so very interested in your thread. I don't usually post in the daytime either as work FT but working at home today so having a bit of a browse at lunchtime.
If you are going to Felixstowe this afternoon i can recommend the Sausage Shop (don't know its proper name) and a farm Shop, both are at Trimley. If you get off the A14 at the Trimley turn, go up towards the Trimleys then turn right at the roundabout (left is towards trimleys and Felixst) the Sausage SHop is immediatly on your right just after the roundabout. The Farm Shop is further along on the left. The mushroom farm is on the left too but I'm not sure they do sales to the public.
We used to live in Leiston and used the Friday Street farm shop quite a bit. Can be pricey though. The other farm shop mentioned by ?Want2save at Woodbridge is on the road to Grundsiburgh. Turn towards Grundsb at the Wyevale roundabout on the A12. Its a bit smaller than Friday St but sells similar stuff. Jimmys farm great but expensive.
Just realsied we have quite a bit of farm stuff here in Suffolk, but in Ipswich its not very good. How did you find a greengrocer? I've been looking for one for six years!!!
Enjoy your afternoon out Vivw - I'm off to clean the fridge out now!

Hi and welcome. Thanks for the tips about Trimley, will look on my way back
The greengrocers was on nacton Rd , the other side of town to you. I believe theres one on bramford lane, which is nearer. Also does Needham Market have one.
I'm going to enjoy all this trying out of farm shops....trouble is I'm a sucker for all those fancy packaged chutneys and jams they all seem to sell.
Do you get much use out of your campervan. I love oursWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -
Hi Vivw
Another campervanner! We love ours, don't get to use as much as we'd like though due to work, but needs must at the moment. Can't wait until we can actually get away on our Grand Tour which should be in November.
Not sure if there is a greengrocer in Needham, i haven't stopped to shop there for years. We usually do our supermarket type shop at Aldi or Lidl in Stowmarket (good excuse for going to Stowmarket caravans to look at gadgets!). But would like to try to get back to the local shopping if possible.
Another thing i've just remembered is that a couple of weeks ago i picked up a leaflet in Ipswich central Library about a Food Co op that was starting up. I think it was going to based at some charity premises on Bramford Road, possibly the salvation Army? The idea was that you would pay £10 joining fee and then order stuff ie groceries, tinned and packets etc from the Suma Catalogue. These would be bought in bulk, but you could just have the quantity you wanted at cost price. I was going to join it but then lost the leaflet, will look for another one when I go to the library again.

That sounds brilliant...wish we had the courage.............good excuse for going to Stowmarket caravans to look at gadgets!).
We have bought both the vans we have owned there. the first was small but i love it...after all it was green in colour. The one we have now is bigger and has more facilities but is a boring white.Another thing i've just remembered is that a couple of weeks ago i picked up a leaflet in Ipswich central Library about a Food Co op that was starting up. I'm in Essex.
I work so can't get to markets & the such like. Am home with my depression today & tbh don't think I would want to go to the market at the football ground. Esp as the 2nd time I went there I got my purse stolen.
I was saying to DH I want to avoid the supermarkets but its hard to avoid them. My local shops are Morrisons/Tesco/Sainsburys...
I'm happy to meet anyone local to me. Or if anyone local to Southend knows of any good farm shops please let me know.
