I'm thinking a BB cream with a high SPF is the way to go for holidays.
A light sheer tint moisturiser with a high SPF - what more do you need!
Any recommendations, I'm after a sheer tint rather than a foundation.0 -
I'm currently using Garnier for oily skin, it has a SPF of 20 and I really like it.
When I go to the beach to sunbathe I use a SPF of 50 on my face, but just to be out in the sun I find 20 is enough (for me).0 -
I spent a few weeks in the Maldives recently and used La Roche-Posay's Anthelios XL tinted cream which has an SPF of 50+. This worked brilliantly. I also receommend the Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint which is SPF15 and the Body Shop BB cream. Both of them work well.0

Just reconnecting with this thread as I am going to Korea soon and after my earlier Superdrug disaster with a BB, am going to brave it again.
In a nutshell, the preferred brands are which, and why? I'm looking for a foundation that is as good as Revlon Colorstay.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

These creams are being heavily promoted at the moment and promise fab results. Has anyone been using them and if so have they found them any good for middle aged skins or are they really for the younger generation?
I also notice that they originate from Asia and some people still prefer to order the korean bb creams online rather than buy the western replacements. Is there anyone who does this?
Does anyone have any good recomendations?
thanks
Im using BB creams. Brands are Mac, maybelline and miss beauty. The mac brand isnt really an authentic one. I just bought it online from singapore. The result is good. its like your face becomes brighter and shiner. Also its like a foundation already.0 -
Hi Vfm4Mepls,
I prefer Skin79 (I have oily skin so use the pink one - the oriental one/gold is better for dry skin). I think Missha is well received, I quite like it too. I find the eastern ones help improve my skin and I can wear when I have spots, the western ones seem just like a tinted moisturiser to me.
Edit: I find skin79 pink and Missha have good coverage without making my face cakey. Some of the others seemed to highlight my massive open pores but these made me look like my skin was clear without feeling like I was wearing make up. I've also tried Lioele Beyond the solution, Skin79 hot orange, BRTC blemish Recover, BRTC jasmine water, Skinfood Peach plus a few western ones."I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." I also have oily skin and most BBs are not for oily skin, that's why I use Garnier, it's the only one specific for oily skin..
marrowgirl, the Skin79, what sort of tint does it have? Or it doesn't....?0 -
I would say Skin 79 hot pink is medium coverage like a foundation & would only be suitable for pale skins as it only comes in one colour. It starts off with a grey cast which changes to your skintone in a few minutes. I'm super pale (porcelain is the foundation shade I would otherwise go for) if you are NC 25 you would be ok but otherwise it may be too light for you. I hate wearing foundation but I can't tell I'm wearing this, it just looks like my skin is less flawed. - I have terrible skin, excema/spots/scabs/pores etc but I've even had skin complements when wearing this!"I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." I would second that. I have open pores/bad skin texture from acne and other skin upsets in the past, and "normal" foundation just makes me look horrific.
I was sceptical about BB Creams but the Skin79 Gold looks lovely and glowy on my skin, and used in addition to usual loose powder I look flawless, just a bit more airbrushed than loose powder on its own (can't use pressed powder either as it highlights my skin flaws).
All I will say is that I can't use the BB Cream every day, I get zitty eventually. Maybe I should give the pink version a try - though I am 41 now and bordering more on dry/combination.0 -
I'm waiting for an order from sing-sing-girl on Ebay of Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream in No. 13 and Holika Holika Essential Petit BB Cream. I've used the Holika Moisture Petit and the Skin 79 Hot Pink in the past but thought I'd try something else. It's so much nicer than foundation especially now that the weather's getting nicer!0
