We have the Sapphire twist and wrap dresses as well. Got them for £45 in the sale a few months ago. They run a little small so I had to get both BMs a medium even tho they are usually a size 8. Other than that, they are perfect and look amazing on.
Here's how my rundown is looking!
Done:
Insurance - Bought from Debenhams
Venue - Booked The Rowantree, Edinburgh
Bridesmaid dresses - Bought from BHS
My Shoes - Bought Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon Shoes
H2b shoes - Bought Cat Orson Boots
Sgian Dubh/Kilt Pin/Dirk - Ordered from Stubborn Stag
Invitations - Bought paper/envelopes/stamps and h2b has designed.
Photographer - A friend of ours has kindly agreed.
Favours/place names - Lego men standing on a white brick with guest names on.
Bridesmaid gifts - 'Spoon' bracelets from Etsy/Paper Cut Card/Wine /Thorntons Chocolates/Pashmina
Registrar - Booked
Hair and Makeup - Booked Made Over Ladies.
Misc - Have bought disposable cameras and have made my own 'photo booth' type props.
Rings - Bought (1 platinum band with diamonds, 1 tungsten carbide band)
Cake - Booked Dedicaked. This will be a 3 tier square rainbow vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream. Outside will be blue with fluffy clouds and have ordered an 'UP' balloon house topper.
Dress - Bought online from jjshouse.com, it turned up yesterday and is amazing!!
DJ - The friend who was gonna sing for us dropped out so have booked a DJ instead. 80s disco to start and classic rock to end.
Postbox + up lighters - Booked Add A Little Sparkle events
Car - Bridesmaids husband is ferrying us to venue in his Merc.
Best men gifts - Kilt pin/Card/Cigar/Whiskey/Cuff links
Still to do:
H2b - Shirt/jacket (already has his kilt)
Center pieces
Guest book (this and photo album is h2b job and will come from Loxleys)
Best men kilt hire

Sazzarella, you have inspired me to write down what we have done so far following your list, so here goes;
Insurance - none; the whole thing will be in France so we'd need French insurance. Haven't got a clue how it all works and even if it's available, so will be taking our chances
Reception venue - reserved. Chateau de Chanteraine in the south of France (Provence), where OH is from. Friend of the family owns it and FIL-to-be is paying :j
Bridesmaid's dresses - will be coming from China, like the wedding dress
My Shoes; custom made from Ebay UK
OH's shoes; no idea!
Invitations; provisional design done. Need to order the stuff and have my mum make them (she's a card-maker, so no worries on this front).
Photographer; found a few possibilities but need to do more work
Favours; nothing definitive yet...
Bridesmaid's gifts; silk/stain dressing gowns + personalised hanger (thanks to MSE for the idea!), a handmade teddy bear each + bottle of champagne
Mairie/wedding venue; OH's domain to arrange. Date cannot be finalised until next year, as per the French system
Hair; OH's aunt is a hairdresser so will do our hair
Make-up; I'm doing my own + bridesmaids if they so wish. I worked at MAC back when I was at uni for 5 years, so I'm pretty good with make-up and know what I like
Rings; 2ct diamond pave in white gold for me; no idea what OH wants
Cake; will be a 4ft croquembouche with raspberry and champagne creme patissiere
Dress; chosen, will be coming from light in the box
DJ/Music; Planning on having a live band for the first part of the evening and then a friend who is a professional electro DJ will finish up the night
Car; will be a helicopter from mairie to the reception venue. There is space for 5 people, so we were thinking of giving 2 places to guests in a random 'prize draw'
Major things that we still need to do are;
Decide on a caterer
Buy the wine (in France of course!); we were thinking to have white + rose champagne for the aperitif & toast, 1 red, 1 white and then a dessert wine like Sauternes.
Book the honeymoon!! We've chosen the trip we want, just need to commit to it. 'Ultimate tour of S.America' going to Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Equador, ending in the Galapagos islands. Not very relaxing, but that's not really our style anyway!
Think about hen & stag parties.....Remember Occam's Razor - the simplest explanation is usually the right one.

Hey everyone - I've been MIA for ages again *hangs head*. I've just not done anything wedding-y for ages so haven't posted.
But realised the other day that next Monday is 6 months til my wedding  and this gave me a right kick up the ar*e as still got loads to do!
Last night me and OH finalised our day guest list and sent out save the dates :j we got 20 free ones in a promotion and they gave us the proof in a PDF, so I sent the 20 paper ones to oldies/most important people and emailed the PDF to the others. Just got to post the paper ones today! No going back as the email ones have gone already
Loving all the pics of dresses that are up - they all look amazing! Wish I had a pic of my dress. And thanks to whoever posted about the BHS twist & wraps dresses as I'm currently majorly stressed about bridesmaid dresses and that could be a solution :T
Next steps are we are looking at wedding rings and I am sdtopping procrastinating on the bridemaid dresses! If I'm not making progress on this next time I post, please shout at me! :rotfl:Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

It will do! We got engaged on 12.8.12, booked the wedding at the end of August/early September last year. Our wedding is 26.7.14 and it's already less than 11 months away .Debt free other than a mortgage but still always wanting to save money :j.
Busy saving for my wedding July 2014.
