Hi chums ,well I bought what I needed 6 eggs,a leek and some plums and four bananas and walked away from the rest
:):)
spent £3.90 in total on my second shop this month and have over £40.00 left.
I am really pleased, and its helping to make some room in my freezer a bit which was crammed full.
Now my shopping list is empty for this week so I shall be able to spend more time working out recipes and menu's to use up what I have.Nice freebie coffee in Dobbies has rounded of a sucessful morning:):)

Morning all,
It has been a while since I have been on this thread, and it shows in my bank account
So, from today I will be on a fiscal fast. I don't have any need to buy items online from Amazon or iTunes, my two weaknesses lately, so I am going to work out my new budget, savings pot and menu plan using all the items in the freezer, fridge and kitchen cupboards.
One thing, I am working on reducing my carb intake due to diabetes 2, and this should make the food go further! Always a silver lining in every cloud.
I will be catching up with how everyone is doing shortly.

I'm on the last day of my Fiscal Fast, I have not spent at all, but I have to say, its killing me today, I think because the suns out. Hopefully i'll resist the urge. It really has been a godsend - had it not been for this and eating out of the store cupboard, I would have gone over my grocery challenge. Good luck to fellow Fasters0

Last Sunday my DD swooped on my tiny shopping list and bought the few bits I needed so I didn't need to buy anything yesterday(bless her she refused to take the money for it as well
) so at the moment I still have over £40.00 in my food budget purse.I shall need some fresh fruit and veg by the weekend but thats about all at the moment.I have decided that this month instead of using the Aldee voucher that my friend gives me I shall put any left over cash into my holiday fund for August and will be starting with a new amount on 1st April again. So at the moment I have had two 'shops'from my purse and one more to do before the end of the month and there is only 8 more days to go
:):):) My cupboards are still pretty full but I am beginning to see a little space in the bottom drawer of the freezer
:):) Onwards and upwards chums

Morning all,
Well, my attempt at fiscal fasting back in March was a disaster! I really must become a lot more focussed and concentrate on one change at a time. So .......
As of today, I will be concentrating on a fiscal fast to see how long I can go without opening my purse. My big weakness is buying on amazon so I will make myself add up how much I spent during April and this will shock me into sticking with this change.
My freezer is stocked up and I have plenty of staples in the kitchen cupboard. I may need to get bread in the near future but that is it.
Off to work on my budget for the month, and I must make a chart for the week to remind me when to take meat out of the freezer for the week's meals.

I used to enjoy taking part in this challenge but had a few difficult months. I would like to join you all again if possible.
I do have my big monthly food shop on Friday so it would initially be a five day fast but after that I would like to go as far into the month as possible. I always slip up with top up shops but have been better since monthly shopping.
I also have some birthdays early in June which I need to buy for but the money is allocated for that.

Hi all
I'm taking part in Live Below the Line for the next 5 days so I will by fiscal fasting by default! I have my meals planned for the next 5 days (£5 for 5 days), and am going to extend it by not spending on anything at all for myself.
My son goes to a craft class on a Friday morning which I have already put the £4 aside for and his swimming lesson is a Friday afternoon which is paid by direct debit, but apart from that we won't be spending a thing.
This morning I have had my free Waitrose coffee but am not going to visit the Virgin Lounge as I feel like that's cheating on my Live Below the Line rules. So I will be doing free things at lunchtimes from work. The weather looks like being awful over the next few days so I will take my library books back tomorrow and have a good browse. I will visit the art gallery on Wednesday and download some iPlayer things for Thursday lunchtime in our staff room. Today looks like being ok weather wise so I will go for a walk.
Good luck all x
