Hello All, I haven't been on here in A WHILE.
Our local grocery store was sold so now it has new owners. It is also now even MORE EXSPENSIVE!!
I may be forced to Fiscal Fast 2 and a 1/2 weeks out of every month just to make ends meet now. FF once a month isn't enough now. It's hard to afford fresh fruits and veggies now. I am feeling worried.
I may have to 'shop' in my cuboards the whole month long. I still have bills to pay. All this on a tight budget with hardly any wiggle room now.Just feeling very discouraged!!!
Frugal in '14!!!! God Bless all of You!!! Frugal = 'Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without!!!'-Saying from the Great Depression in the US 1929-39. Love you, Erica Dawn0 -
Hi ericadawn,I too am finding its the fruit and veg which is costing me so much more a month ,at least with meat I can stretch it out in stews etc...thankfully we have great end of day reductions over here things like veg that cost one pound we can get it for ten pence or bag of oranges that's 2pouns down to 20p. I have been eating from my freezers for a few weeks now to reduce my buying bit I seem to be making the food then freezing it cooked smaller portions going back into freezer but still going back in . I will deffo need to go on we'd and get a few things. Trying to stay as far away from shops as poss, have a good day all xxxC.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinater

On Saturday I spent £66 at A£di but have a few items that will last me several months. I had a shopping list and I had previously worked out care of MSM what prices to look out for. So found the cheapest prices at other stores for the items I was looking for. Then if they were cheaper in Alldi then I could buy it. I now feel confident that I can delay my big online shop for another month. Though I am now planning several months to clear some older stock out of the cupboards. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

Keep your chin up and don't let the blighters get you down!! Food prices seem to have gone up in most places. Every time we visit friends in the States I notice how much more expensive food seems to be!I don't know whereabouts you are but I have a couple of friends who have lots of veg growing in their yards now. Maybe there is a chance you can grow some veg yourself to save a bit of money. Even if you were in an apartment somewhere you could still grow some micro-salad, which is very nutritious.
No spending here...whoop whoop!! Was tempted as I was going to use one of the two remaining eggs to make pancakes for lunch. However, I used up some muffins and some pizza bread things that were in the freezer. Which has resulted in another day without a spend!!Will have to go and get salad for tomorrow for when our friend comes around for dinner. That's not too shabby though, I am pretty impressed with myself and very grateful for this challenge, it was just what I was looking for! :T

Totally lost but starting again, made it to Saturday then did a shop (£24) but need to go tomorrow and get fresh stuff for the week, I was just going to walk to aldi but going to have to take the car and go to a supermarket as need more baby milk. My meal plans are going well just the fruit/veg /salad stuff gets eaten so quickly and we need baby stuff all the time too.Living the simple life0

Don't be hard on yourself Tink just remember that you are not buying all the other waste of money stuff you were before, it is planned damage limitation. It is hard especially when you have a baby as they can't go without.
I stocked up at Lidl at the weekend with fruit, veg and milk and should be able to avoid SM again this week. It really is ridiculous the amount of food I still have in the cupboards and two freezers even though this is week 3 of no proper shopping
We are off in our caravan next week for a few days so I am going to try and prepare some meals to take and bake some bits for snacks. I would rather spend money on fun things than foodMarch G.C. £300 fail 🙄

Well I had to buy some milk yesterday and so should be able to do the next seven days without a problem now. I will not be doing any YS top ups until I have to buy more milk so should be doing well. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0
