Well - hangs head in shame - I failed at the first hurdle - spent money on Monday so am starting my week again. I am determined to achieve 7 NSD's in a row. I will admit to needing dog food but I can't help that one so will not count that - if that's okay. The large bag will last around 3 weeks (2 dogs) so its good value.
I have started preparing for next Christmas (our theme for family this year is upcycled / made which helps with decluttering and the budget) and tea tonight is straight from the freezer so there's no excuse. Today is definitely NSD1.44 day challenge

Day seven and another NSD for me today.I saw on the Aldi site that salad bits are on the offer this week so I shall go on friday and get a few odds and ends that I need cucumber, celery etc.Still have more than enough to keep me going this week, but will need fresh veg at the weekend0

Day 7 here too! Managed to make more soup for today's visitors, from last of the Christmas veg. Just the celery and a cabbage to go and a little salad. Tonight we had a lasagne found in the depths of the chest freezer with the addition of two tins of veg made a very filling meal. Still plenty in but would like to get some more fresh veg and milk and do a small app foods order to take advantage of the cheap minced chillies and ginger. We have a lot of stir fries and could use them. So will be back on Friday for another week of fiscal fasting.

Jan grocery challenge £35.77/£1200 -
Good morning,
Day 5 of my fiscal fast and by the skin of my teeth it is a nsd. Was queuing in the local shop with a carton of milk and then decided it wasn't needed so put it back.
Now back home and will be busy with housework so my purse will remain shut.
Need to make soup for the freezer as old veg to use up.
Having beef steak with salad for dinner as salad needs to be eaten.
Good luck ninno! Also love the idea of your family's christmas theme.
Erica, i hope you are keeping ok?
Good luck all in your fiscal fasting endeavours.
Peony x

day 8 of NSD and today I have had porridge for breakfast and lunch will be a freebie as I have a £10.00 voucher that needs to be used up today at the local beefeater pub chain so that's lunch taken care of and tonight will be a snack from the fridge as I am eating out. I am hoping to get to friday before I need to shop.Aldi's have a good veg special on and I will go there on Friday morning and get what I need and it will be the first food shopping done this year :j:j:j.I am really using up everything I can to its best advantage .In my veg box I have left three onions, one swede, some mushrooms and one small cabbage and two carrots ,so I shall make some soup from that as I have some carrots in the freezer I want to use up as well and a few lentils and some tumeric and cumin spices.:D
This year really is going to be a thrify one I think I have got my 'frugal head' on.
I also have half a bag of apples to peel and cook for the freezer that I have been given
Well done everyone on your f/fasting .My purse is still looking good as I've not touched it to buy anything yet:):)

Well day seven but I need to go out and get some milk and cream. I will be using some of the £40 cash back that I got out on my last shop. While it will deplete my cash balance slightly it has already been counted as part of that shop, so am unsure whether to actually count it? I will but my bank and credit cards will remain untouched for another 7 days. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

Day 6 and still counting :j
Will use up the last of the pale green broccoli and brussels tonight, that leaves me with carrots, ½ small swede, potatoes, 2 gem lettuce, tomatoes, onions; also have some frozen peas, sweetcorn and celery.
Hoping to make these last well into next week in the hopes that the next @ldi’s super 6 appeal more to me than this weeks.
I’m more likely to run out of bread before I do veg, so anticipating that I’m going to go and make a batch of scones – they will also help fill some of the gaps I’m creating in the freezer.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £16.930 -
Today I made some paella for the week and tomorrow will be making a cabbage and potato soup which needed an additional carrot. So spent 18p.
My other groceries for the week were more than I planned but I did not touch my cards. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
Afternoon all - reporting NSD number 2. Dinner tonight is an, as of yet, unidentified casserole from the depths of the freezer - I'm guessing chicken - but who knows. With a jacket potato n veg it will taste good.44 day challenge
