  • I was doing OK until youngest DD wanted some fruit, we have some in the house but she wanted grapes, nectarines! She also bought some bread rolls and a few other bits and spent £18 for us!

Going to top up on veg tomorrow at Ald!'s and start a full week NSD from Saturday, God help anyone in my house who thinks they are going to squeeze even 5p from my purse! :rotfl:

So - day 1 for me and I am aiming for 7 days although already it looks like I will need dog food in 3/4 days grrr! Today I have used supplies from the store cupboard n freezer for the meals and have kept myself busy returning the house to some form of normality. Last night I realised that I needed a card but managed to find a suitable one from my stash rather than going out and buying another one. I want to use some of this period to make some birthday cards for the year ahead.
    44 day challenge

    1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
    2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
    3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)

    Hello all,

I was doing well today until we entered a garden centre. I bought 40 xmas cards that were 50% reduced, a tin of shortbread for one of Dad's birthday gifts, two birthday cards and a packet of chocolate covered brazil nuts, the total was £20.09!! Really annoyed that I paid £3.99 on the chocolate nuts as they taste off.

I have no plans on going out over the weekend so they should be NSD.

I have a NSD today but could face that risk tomorrow, though if good I might be able to avoid that outcome.

    Good morning,

Ugh, it's raining yet again! Oh well, as I will be staying indoors it will be a NSD. Although, I am having my grocery shop delivered this Monday it will be paid for by gift vouchers so my fiscal fast will start today and I should not need to spend any of my money next week.

Erica, I hope that you are keeping well.

    Take care everyone.

Day four and still not spent any cash this year :):):) I am really pleased, and dinner tonight will be part from the freezer and part from my veg stash. I also have some stewed apples and custard for pudding .I am glad I am shopping from my stuff indoors as the weather is foul and not the sort I want to go out in.
The only thing on my shopping list so far is cling film and lemon juice ,both of which I can manage without. Definitely keeping my purse firmly shut and staying away from supermarkets for a few more days.Monthly food purse budget of £60.00 is still intact :):):)

Thanks Happy for the tip on writing to the manufacturer. Hubby decanted the nuts from the wrapping, so I will need to delve into the rubbish.

Have just finished the pantry/freezer audit and I should have enough to last a while. Will need to buy a little more meat and stock cubes together with dairy products but this is it.

Having a rest before checking toiletry supplies.

    Then off to menu plan.

Lovely to read how everyone is doing.

Well I managed to avoid another spend. So only one spending day so far this year. I now expect to get through to 10th before risking another spending day.
