Weekly Spend Challenge w/c 19th Feb 12 Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.

Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Hi all

Another shiny new thread for a rainy new week (anyone else?!).

I'm pledging £25 this week. I am going to the mall in a short while but will only spend on maybe some beads in H0bbyCr*ft if I see some I like, and possibly a drink or something. Nothing planned for Mon/Tue and hoping to keep them free. Back to work on afternoons only for Wed, Thu and Fri and again, can't see that involving spends unless anyone is so desperate to catch up with me that I end up going for a drink (diet coke, boo) after work. There's only a couple of people that would be likely to happen with and I don't think it will. Not now my good friend has moved to London. It was him I used to go out with after work. Ho hum.

Thanks LC for the new weekly thread you do a fab job keeping us on track (even tho I waiver now and again ), hugs to all who want or needs them especially you Scotsmum so sad for you all, have a kind to yourself week and family budgetting can wait till you feel like it again eh xx

A NSD saturday and sunday for me here so im declaring £11.09/£20.00 for whole week which im happy with im going to count whats in my purse and it is £12.31 lol so thats my lot for next week ive got nothing planned as all my extras are paying off catalogue bills etc at mo and its working just fine ....

Failed to update this week as our broadband has been down since middle of last week, thankfully this did distract me from budgeting managed a purple week.

NSD for me yesterday. Should be another one today too, doing a bit of grocery shopping later but from a different budget.

You're welcome to join Ihatethemoneypit, just set youself a budget and try and stay within it, post here as many times as you like or not. I generally post everyday as it keeps me focused.
But don't worry if you do go over budget, no one here will judge you.
