Getting professional help to beat debt. Diary

  • Thanks goodness it is Monday!! Never thought I'd ever say that but I'm finding that I am getting really down on Sundays! Does anyone else get like that? Can't afford to do anything so stuck at home? I need to keep occupied I think or I start going into a downward spiral.
The weather doesn't help. Throughout summer I spend much of Sundays walking the dogs or gardening but throughout the winter I've been stuck inside feeling miserable. I managed to convince myself yesterday that there is no way on earth that I will get out of debt this year. I was trying to do online surveys all day but kept getting kicked off half way through so wasted a whole load of time for nothing! I spent all day in a sulk! I fell miles better today though as I have work to distract me. :j Though for some reason I'm nervous to go in because of my new hair do! I'm not 100% convinced about it.

I have fallen out with surveys at the moment too - keep getting bombed out and finding it frustrating that I am not making any extra money at the moment !

Lets hope things brighten up soon to lift our moods :)

  • Well I've had a mixed week again.... Skint already and it's nowhere near pay day! (10 days!) Groan! Haven't managed to do much debt wise other than withdrawing £2.50 from a survey site and paying it off my overdraft!

I'm not getting used to my new hair do at all and I've had it done a red shade so the colour will take a lot of getting rid of.... I'll have to save up for a trip to the hairdresser or just put up with it....

Had some amazing news this week, that my uncle who I have never met (due to my mum dying when I was born and him living in Oz ) is coming to see me in May! I am so excited but the first thing I thought was "oh no that could get expensive! Days out, time off work, dining out etc...." I hate being in debt so much as it messes everything up! So now I am really excited about meeting my real mum's twin, the nearest I will ever get to knowing what my mum was like.... but panicking about not having any money when he arrives!! :(

Other than that, not much new.... just waiting for pay day......

  • Well things seem to have become so slow they are almost at a standstill regarding my debt! My Nectar points seem to be drying up..... I'm wondering if it is because I used so many extra points vouchers last month that they are giving up letting me have any! ha ha!
I have run out of money for the month so there is no spare change going into my savings tins.
I have managed to withdraw another £2.50 from a different survey site so thats £5 this week but i'm still struggling on with swag bucks... I'm getting the hang of it a bit more now but I seem to spend 2 hours a night on it and still haven't enough points to make a withdrawal!
Still got a week to go until pay day. Groan. And March is the month of many birthdays!! It's like christmas all over again.... So I probably wont have much spare money then either. Still, I am trying to stay focussed and tell myself that all these tiny bits of savings and survey points etc will make a difference!
Bought a scratch card yesterday in a moment of madness / desperation.... lost £2 on it!! Then realised it would probably take me a month to earn £2 on the survey sites and I had just blown it! I had to laugh :rotfl:

I wish I had your willpower when it comes to surveys tried and I can't get my head in it. Which site do you find has best payout ?
Don't know about you but I am looking forward to payday.

    Hi Shinner
I like Mysurvey best. I seem to get booted out less on that one and the points can be added to my Nectar card. I also do Opinion outpost and use those points for Paypal money but I find it hard to finish one on that site without it kicking me out. I'm getting the hang of swagbucks too now. There are a lot more surveys on that site and they seem shorter and it's quite easy to make points. I do find it all really boring though. I'm literally forcing myself to do it! Groan!
Yeah roll on payday! Tuesday for me! Was hoping we'd get our payslips today so I can at least see what I'm getting but no such luck! I'll have to be patient and wait! Booooo!
    Have a great weekend xx

  • Was a awake at the crack of dawn to see if my mobile phone bill was online (it's due today) as I had upgraded 3 months early to a sim only plan to save money but it was all a bit confusing and I wasn't sure if I had to wait three months and pay the usual £50 ish until the actual contract ran our or if It would go down to my new £13 sim only fee straight away.
This is how obsessed I am with money saving that I am awake at 7.30 am on a Sunday wondering about these things :rotfl: Still it was worth it as not only has it gone down to £13 but I've also had some kind of refund from my previous contract which has not only covered this months payment but left me in enough credit to pay next months too!! Result! :T

Also my cheque came from Zapper yesterday for a whole tenner! (took 3 weeks to get here!) . So that can get paid into my overdraft account.

I'm also almost at 2000 points on swag bucks at last and then I will be able to withdraw a tenner. I'm making it my mission to get there by the end of the day!!

I've managed to get to £36 on my Nectar card but it is slowing down a lot and I'm struggling to get any extra points vouchers etc.

I've got £106 saved in my £2 coin jar!! Whoopeee!! Just wondering if I should keep it there or pay it off my debt now. Was initially planning on using it to pay off a chunk as I got to the end....

Pay day on Tuesday so another chunk will be paid off my debt. This year is going so fast! I can't believe it is nearly March already! Part of me is thinking it's really good as I'll be out of debt in no time and then part of me feels like it's going too fast and I'm not managing to pay enough off to reach my target on time... Still... all I can do is try my best and see what happens....

Off to walk the dogs in the howling gales now!! I've noticed some of you down south saying spring has arrived but it's definitely not here up north! Gonna get well wrapped up... It's freezing!!

    Have a great Sunday!
