Cash plus, has been the only pre-paid card that has lasted.

Others like O2 money, cash plastic, PayPal have all just disappeared.

It has been frustrating, when you come to rely on iAdvance instead of overdraft...credit builder has been a life saver. 50 percent improvement in less than a year.

Glad this hiccup is over, just wish there fewer and customers didn't have to notify APS when things go wrong.

I have been using cash plus for a few months and had very few issues until the last week when I was making payments online to my e wallet, The payments were declined even though I had more than sufficient funds in fact seven separate transactions were declined or cancelled whilst being processed.

To my horror when checking the account found they had actually placed all the payments in the pending section (Over 900.00) and that was the start of the nightmare. I contacted the merchant who explained that dropping internet connections had caused the problem and they provided evidence that the payments had been cancelled or declined which I forwarded to my cash plus who explained that was insufficient and required the merchant to contact them to confirm that they were not going to claim the amounts that had been pre-authorized.

The merchant sent them the evidence but again they wanted specific wording. I told them to reply to the merchant with their requirements but they refused stating not their policy and all the time I had no access to these funds. The merchant argued that the transactions were declined by cashplus so they did not understand why they wanted further clarification on an issue that was not an issue for them.

After a week of being passed from customer services I spoke to the back office team (Five days for a response) who told me that they could hold for 30 days but they had reduced it to seven days so if the merchant hadn't claimed the funds would be automatically released back to my account. I couldn't believe that they were still talking about the merchant claiming payments when the merchant had confirmed time and time again that once a failed transaction they had no facility to collect anything.

I decided to let the seven days expire and rang to confirm that the payment would be credited today which even though it was a weekend they told me it is an automated process regardless of the day but has to be 7 calender days after the pre authorization.

I can confirm that this payment has not been forthcoming and they are still classed as pending on the account so for a week I've had over £900.00 held in error. There service to me has been very poor which will result in the complaint being escalated tomorrow.

    Wow.

Wish this thread would've shown up in a search before I applied for a cashplus card.

(It's recommended on this site?? )

I can't use the thing at the moment; getting the same 'third party problem' message in the Member's Area as posters were confronted with last year.

Feel a right idiot as I've just signed up for their creditbuilder scheme. Will leave enough in to cover the creditbuilder fees and then cut the card in two.

    Amazon order failed.

No problems flagged in the members Area.

This thing is an absolute joke, cannot wait to get rid.

Contacted their back office, very helpful, apparently I'd blocked the card by entering the wrong pin at the ATm too many times. (durrrrbrain!).

So in reality I only missed out a weekend thanks to the 'third party' problem.

have tried to access my card today, cannot log into the members area as it will not recognise my password, username, security code, postcode or date of birth, yet when i phone the automated system it tells me my balance and recognises everything... really unimpressed as this is a card recommended on here for improving credit rating yet I have had a multitude of problems with it since registering in May....

Just contacted APS on back line, as main premium number dumps calls.

Line is busy but there are folks there, they are now aware and assure me cards still work at retailers, ATM and online.

The website security access is inactive, or offline I.T. Are working on it.

Non premium number, depending on your individual calling plan can be a free call. I.e free weekend calls .... 020 7153 8940

    emails: backoffice@apsgroup.com, card.services@apsgroup.com, marketing@apsgroup.com, enquiries@apsgroup.com

I never like calling premium rate numbers and use the 0207 number as well. I have a ClearCash card which is ran in partnership with Cashplus (so they service it) and to date, havent had any problems. There have been times when the Members Area has been down but never seems to be long!

Whenever a load goes on, i get a text message which i like but have learnt to not load on a Friday as can be Monday until it gets credited.... but of advice there everyone. :)

I think this is a great alternative to a mainstream bank and although I cant pay cheques in, the way the banks have been behaving, prefer not to even look at them. I have struggled financially in the past and the banks offered no help.

Also I have heard that COOP arent offering accounts to people that are having debt problems!

I had three direct debits have to go out second time of asking over the space of four years and the Coop closed my account.

The fact that the money was paid in first thing on the day it was required was irrelevant apparently. Always happened on a Monday morning as not many Coop branches and they close early on Saturday in the branch nearby.

Would never use Coop again for anything.

    Now happily back with Barclays.

With a Cashplus card! So technically still with Coop, lol.
