Hey,
Opened one of these over the telephone last night, freephone call found the number on saynoto0870.
The bloke I spoke to was from USA, very helpful and polite a really positive experience. I said I only wished they were this helpful in my local Santander branch where I have found them to be incompetent!
Took about 25 minutes due to having to listen to various recorded messages etc for legal reasons but much better for me than having to go in the aforementioned incompetent local branch.
Got the account number straight away and have filled out and posted off my transfer form.
The only thing I forgot to ask was where they pay the interest on maturity, I assume it is back into the ISA?
Thanks in advance.
It's paid in to the isa annually march if you opened direct USA 9, April if it's the one year and may if it's the 2 year major isa0 -
If you already have £30,000+ accumulated from previous year subscription then NatWest e-ISA pays 3.5%. it is also flexible so you could withdraw it any time without loosing the interest/
Here is the link

But be aware that it pays a low rate of interest for the first 2-6 weeks:Natwest wrote:The bonus is added to the standard variable interest rate and starts on the 15th or 16th day of the next month after your account is opened0 -
Will this account start paying 3.3% interest from the day you open it or will that rate start from 6th April (the start of the new tax year?)Save in 2013: #166: 9,122.51/[STRIKE]5,000[/STRIKE] 10,000Interest earned in 2014: £257.61 20/04/140

Money will start earning interest from the day it is deposited into the account.0

What precisely does "deposited into the account" mean?
If I write a cheque today from another bank (non-ISA funds), when will it be "deposited"?
If I request a transfer from another ISA, when will it be "deposited"?
If I transfer electronically from another bank (faster payment), when will it be "deposited"?
If I transfer from another Santander account, when will it be "deposited"?0 -

Actually it's the day after its deposited ie
Put in cash on Monday interest starts tues
Cheque on monday interest on wed
Faster payment on Monday (that arrives on monday) interest on Tuesday
Isa transfer takes upto 15days so if Santander get the funds on a mon u get interest from tues.0 -
Form completed online, now waiting for something in the post.
Might be the 15-16th March before the forms arrive in the post, so the 17-18th before they receive them back.
That does not give them long to transfer the ISA over before the start of the next financial year.0 -
Apparently the old 3.3% Santander ISA (that didn't allow transfers in) can be converted to this new one over the phone. However, I don't want to do it straight away because my old account doesn't "expire" until 06/04/2012 and this new one only has 3.3% for 12 months from the opening date, not until 06/04/2013.
Hopefully I won't wait too long and lose out!
Also, apparently I forfeit the 0.2% Halifax Reward bonus interest on my current ISA if I transfer out before 06/04/2012 so I have to wait until then to move more money into it anyway...0 -

Is there any particular reason why you want it to transfer before the start of the next financial year? You know it doesn't make any difference to your ISA allowance, right?0 -
Does it not?
Ok, then thats good as i would have to transfer it over into the Santander 3.3% with a view to subscribe into the 2012 ISA.0
