I have broken my hour up.
did 10mins tidying the garden, 5 mins writing a letter for dh to claim back uniform expenses, 10 mins clearing surface clutter and arranging into piles for where it needs to go.
I will have 35 mins once youngest is napping to sweep, dust and put away.L2B.xLBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/20180 -
welcome aboard Pernicious and good luck!!!
I'm coming to the conclusion that although I've wasted a lot of money in my years on earth I've also wasted a lot of time into the bargain, the money issues can and are being resolved but the time i will never get back and although I will never be the type that spends her weekends conquering the three peeks then baking a carrot cake for work colleges the next day (yes I know people that spend their days doing this) I can do more and today came home to a tidy house and a guilt free evening of soaps and a nice chill!!! roll on tomorrow and an hour in the gym (hopefully)
congrats on the wedding btw
Thank you! I manage to do pretty well over the course of the weekend, I finished the inserts for my wedding invitations so when the bits arrive they're ready to print, have worked on the website a little (although I need to crack on with this some more), spoke to the caterer & a couple of other suppliers & really felt like I achieved something once againI too, may not be the kind of woman who can conquer the three peaks & still bake a carrot cake for work the next day but these baby steps are helping, so thanks again for starting the thread.
I however do not include MSE forum as a waste of time - it of course fits in to 'educational' pursuits!:rotfl:
Hehe MSE can be a very good use of time but it can also be a massive drain on limited time! Which is why I am posting here on my lunchbreak & didn't check this thread at the weekend.GreenSaints wrote: »Hi
What a great thread!
I think I'm the best time waster. I always say I never have enough time, but I'm sure I can do everything I need to in an hour a day.
So, I'm going to start today
The main things I 'don't have time to do' are exercising, tidying the house and studying. It's 20 minutes each, that's nothing!
Thanks for the inspiration!
Ooh I hadn't thought of breaking it up like that, was just going to plough through with the most urgent, maybe this will be a better way to get a good balance going!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Right, onto today's plan then:-
I plan to only watch one episode of the big bang theory (whilst eating dinner), & instead of watching another I plan to work on our wedding website for as long as I can before needing to get ready for my taekwon do class this evening, I haven't been in about 2 weeks so really need to get back into it! If I don't manage to spend a full hour before the class then I plan to shower as soon as I get in the door instead of pottering about on FB wasting time...& then continue with wedding bits until an hour has been completed, although the 90mins spent at Tkd is still a better use of time than sitting on my bum in front of the TV or FB!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

What a great thread. Thanks for starting it.
I too am guilty of moaning about no having enough time to do things. So how do I have time to sit in front of the laptop for about two hours a night?
Rooms to tidy
Bathroom to clean
Wardrobe to declutter
Knitting to finish and wool to start new projects.
Good luck to everyone today.0 -
I'm splitting my 60 minutes into two batches of 30. Meaning I can tidy up, make the bed, put washing on, flick a duster and such like, before I sit down to do some work. Once I've finished working I'll do the next 30 minutes of chores before preparing dinner.
I'm finding this works better for me, I don't fret over half and hour. I also allow myself another half hour at lunchtime if extra chores manifest. I'm going to put aside an hour on Saturday to do the non-standard chores, I'm preparing a list, it's funny how you can forgetThis includes cupboard cleaning, car cleaning, ebay sorting and the list goes on....

Hello
I read a great tip in a book about how to make the best use of your time. It said to pick 3 things to do, write them down and put 5, 10 and 15 next to each.
You then work on the 1st one for 5 minutes and then at the end of the 5 minutes stop, wherever you are, and move to the next for 5 minutes and so on. The tipster said that by the end she was really wanting to get to work on one thing so the minutes on the others just flew by.
It helps me anyway as I tend to go at things gungho, try and do to much, get overwhelmed and then try and ignore it and hope it will magically get done by itself - my masters dissertation is a case in point. I have been studying since 2008, got distinctions in all 8 taught modules and just have to do the same in the dissertation to get one overall. However, what am I doing now when I have some time at work and could be reading articles? Reading MSE. oops. Will go home and set myself an hour of reading each night I think, should crack through it then.
