:eek::eek::eek::eek:
I have just been phoned by the tesco I visited last night, on the pretence of asking if i've lost my clubcard!!
They then told me I am banned from all tesco stores and they have circulated my photograph :eek::eek: and contacted the police :eek::eek:
I asked her to explain herself and she said that I purchased 1p chocolates with insider information :eek: and went into the store 3 times (it was 2), that I had a list (I did not) and I was on camera and they had contacted the police :eek::eek:
When I asked her waht she thought was a police matter and what she meant by insider information, she wouldn't answer, so I kept asking till she just hung up :eek::eek:
I got her name and have contacted HO, they phoned the store and no answer, so they are e-mailing the manager and calling me back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you had dtd's in that store and are you "well known"OMG ... How did they get your name/number? Had you left your CC there? Do you recognise the name given (i.e. an SA you've had dealings with in the past?).
What photo have they got? When was it taken? And what's the police ref: number?
I'd be absolutely livid!!
Take a step back, our 1st reactions are not normally the best...
But then again ... are you sure it was someone from the store and not someone else "having a laugh"?:eek:
LOL would be a great wind up, erm maybe some calls to multiple stores to get the staff checking stock on 1p itemsIf that was me, I would print out the Daily Mail 1p item feature (i'm sure someone has it one here) and march down to the store and demand to see the manager, wanting to know why you where accused of theft and what exactly you had done wrong, apart from pay the price asked by Tesco'd for items on its shelves. If I didn't get a satisfactory apology, the ban recinded and some kind of compensation then i would be calling the daily Mail reporter who wrote the 1p article so they could do a nice big spread on it.
Yes, and have the newspapers sniffing all over this thread and MSE itself, probably not a great idea.
Can I just say that T has the right to refuse to serve anyone they feel like and do not have to give reason. It is their property !
The managlement seem to make up their own rules, and at the end of the day who here has not gained from Mr T's !!!! ups ?
Does everyone expect them to just sit back and take it ?
Wakey wake, if you keep at it you will come unstuck, sure this is not a surprise.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -
I totally understand that this is very upsetting for you Fudge but I can't help but think that HO will sort it out. It seems to me that the branch have gone way beyond their 'power' here and have absolutely no right to say what they said.
The branch or someone at HO is at fault for the misprice - you cannot be at fault for paying the amount asked. If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -
Is it just the Thorntons mints, anyone tried Ts own selection?:eek::eek::eek:I have just been phoned by the tesco I visited last night, on the pretence of asking if i've lost my clubcard!! they then told me I am banned from all tesco stores and they have circulated my photograph :eek::eek: and contacted the police :eek::eek: I asked her to explain herself and she said that I purchased 1p chocolates with insider information :eek: and went into the store 3 times (it was 2), that I had a list (I did not) and I was on camera and they had contacted the police :eek::eek:

:eek::eek: What absolute tosh  (T's not you Fudge2 ♥) as everyone else has commented, You bought them with real money.
Insider info? bring it on. If they knew they were 1p why didn't they buy them themselves? or clear the shelf? Inside info suggests they knew the price beforehand :mad:Kin**t*n P**k still has 2 clip strips of xmas disney stockings which I really want for daughters party bags but still £2 not 1p unfortunately.
Could I ask if you've scanned them? May say £2 on SEL but scan at 1pOur Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...

 Not sure how it can work in my favour?
Have called HO again and they are chasing up the first person I spoke to. They said just go about your normal day and we'll call you back. I told them I was planning to go to t's to get some shopping, so can't go about my day now :rotfl:
I will ring the police if no luck from HO, but different police force to where I live. Just annoys me that now I have to stay in till all this is sorted and was planning to fleece WHSmiths some more today, to get a b'day card for my sisters b'day, and will now have to wait until this is sorted before I can go and give her, her pressies
Fudge2, read through the highlights.
Rang HO again ? What for ? The manager will talk way out of it.
Ring the police. What for ? They have better things to do than worry about 1p sweets, as do you.
Fleece WHS, out of pan into frier. Careful.
You don't have to wait home for T, the have your mobile number so you can do what you want. Sorry can't see this apart from your anger.
I'd have a cup of T and calm down.
Knickers in a knot doesn't make for calm rational decision.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -
If Fudge had inside information that would suggest that someone inside knew of the price error.
If that is the case then surely they are the ones at fault for not removing the items from sale.If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -

I would tell HO that if you didnt get a written apology (and a giftcard :rotfl::rotfl:) that you'r going to take it to the media, they will have a field say with a story like this..
This is pathetic, even if you bought 50 items for 1p... you paid for them!!!!!! Its their fault for selling stuff at that price anyway!!!!
I wouldnt worry love, keep your chin up, as you havent stolen anything, youve only taken advantage of their excellent pricing.. as they say "every little helps"!!!!0 -

Maybe, however, they do not have the right to circulate your picture and state that you have broken the law, labeling you a criminal, without proof.Avatar courtesey of HC :beer:0 -

ROFL, insider info this is tesco's not wall street
if anything sensitive to the the share price is used to gain monetary advantage that is insider info/trading.
The loss of a few 1p eggs will no affect Tesco 1 bit, LOLBack to square one, no apg, no comment.0
