The branch or someone at HO is at fault for the misprice - you cannot be at fault for paying the amount asked.
HO are on the case. New lady taken over case and contacting the store now. First thing she said was 'this sounds like a prank call' :rotfl::rotfl:T's own scan normal price
:eek::eek: What absolute tosh  (T's not you Fudge2 ♥) as everyone else has commented, You bought them with real money.
Insider info? bring it on. If they knew they were 1p why didn't they buy them themselves? or clear the shelf? Inside info suggests they knew the price beforehand
Could I ask if you've scanned them? May say £2 on SEL but scan at 1pMaybe 1. I know, I know , but scanned lots of stuff from their reduced bin too and that is not what they've mentioned

I would be very surprised if they did that DSG, just an intimidation tactic.
BTW Mr T has facial recognition software so circulation face isn't necessary, the system will identify you as you walk into camera scope and alert security.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -
ROFL, insider info this is tesco's not wall street
if anything sensitive to the the share price is used to gain monetary advantage that is insider info/trading.
The loss of a few 1p eggs will no affect Tesco 1 bit, LOL
I realise that and no one thinks that the loss of a few eggs will affect Tesco but Fudge has been accused of buying the 1p eggs with inside information. If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -

I would tell HO that if you didnt get a written apology (and a giftcard :rotfl::rotfl:) that you'r going to take it to the media, they will have a field say with a story like this..
This is pathetic, even if you bought 50 items for 1p... you paid for them!!!!!! Its their fault for selling stuff at that price anyway!!!!
I wouldnt worry love, keep your chin up, as you havent stolen anything, youve only taken advantage of their excellent pricing.. as they say "every little helps"!!!!
Who do you think would be made to look bad ?
Odds against Fudge.
And would also mess it up for everyone else.
This reminds me of Helen the other day, caught red handed and still want to argue the case.
Fudge you didn't answer about having DTD out of that store ?Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

If you get no joy from HO ring the rozzers yourself, you've done nothing wrong :A
Well I'd like to think so but sadly I think you are wrong unless it resolves itself very quickly.
HO rarely overturn store bans and really they won't be too fussed about losing one customer.
There are some factors in fudges favour that might make them back down however.......
1. store manager was rude and hung up on her.
2. manager claimed to have called the police. If this is untrue then is bullying and intimidation.
3. The store manager claims to have banned them from all tesco stores, she has no authority to do this.
4. The manager claims to have passed on the photo to other stores. Given no criminal activity has taken place, I'd hazard a guess that this would be a breach of some sort of data protection rules but not 100% sure on that.
5. Given the DM artical about the 1p finds, my guess is Tesco wouldn't want the negative publicity that fudge could cause if the journalist wanted to pick this story up and run with it.
IMO time is the issue here.....mre it drags on the greater likelihood of a negative outcome.
I do wonder how many of us have been scrutinised in stores over the past few months? Plenty for sure and for those pushing the limits, fudges post should be a solemn reminder that Tesco have done and will continue to fight back against us.0 -

There is no such thing as insider egg trading.

Dopey_Sleepy_Grumpy wrote: »So you purchased 1p chocolates, are they saying that customers are breaking the law if they purchase reduced to clear items that are on the shop floor?
If that is the case, perhaps Tesco would be kind enough to include a notice on the shelves with these type of items in future, stating that customers are breaking the law if they purchase them.
Given that some stores are happy for 1p items to go through manned tills, does this mean that Tescos are actively encouraging customers to break the law .
So you went into the store with a list. OMG, does that mean I can't use a shopping list any more. This is getting ridiculousness, pictures can't be taken inside the store; customers are not allowed to look at SELs; customers are not allowed to use lists while shopping; customers are not allowed to purchase items reduced to clear. All we need now is notification that customers are not allowed to enter the store.

I'm back - anyone want to know how my trip went?!
I managed to get 2 boxes of the 1p Marc de champagne posh choccies, but apart from that, absolutely nothing else and i searched high and low. Not even any candles, never mind the choc! I did think I'd found a super dooper glitch on some Finest Gammon ham, showing as £9.99 per kg then big labels on the actual ham saying £4.99 half price. It went through the til at £11.17 so I hoped for a fab DTD. Turns out the ham was 2.2kg, not 2.2lbs as I had read it. Oops. so full refund please CS.Tiger
I'm a body double for Claudia Schiffer and i wont get out of bed for less than [STRIKE]£10k per day[/STRIKE] a 1p find0 -
I know that some of us push it a bit and couldn't really complain too much if T bit back.
I can understand them going on the attack with someone for excessive, deliberate DTDs for example but really... for buying cheap items at the price asked for at the till? That does seem strange. If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0
