The price is £37 now. They'll send you another copy for your wife if you ask them, foc.
  • i had to use autoaid twice in past month. getting receipts from recovery has been a problem though. any way round this? very frustrating

When you phone AutoAid, let them know that you don't have any means to pay on the spot. They will then send out a firm who are willing to invoice you after the event.

The worst case scenario is that you'll get the breakdown sorted and definitely get an invoice, the best case scenario is that the company used will simply invoice AutoAid - this was certainly my experience, although it's not part of the written terms of your agreement!
  • we have only had to use them once when my wifes car broke down. On this occasion she was not asked to pay any costs at all, and we never saw an invoice. I guess the recovery firm may have invoiced AutoAid direct.

    Great value

I only switched to Auto Aid a couple of months ago. Two weeks back I couldn't get my diesel to start and ran my battery flat trying. I called out my regular repair shop who came and made a repair. I sent the receipt in to Auto aid and the cheque was with me in just a few days, £40. I've phoned them a couple of times during this spell and I always found them very helpful and knew all my details straight away. So far I'm more than happy.
I keep a credit card in my glove compartment for driving emergencies so paying isnt normally a problem.
  • I brokedown - got a new alternator fitted sent off cliam received cheque back in a week.

Having seen all the posts about AutoAid, I have left the AA after 14 years.

The AA were going to charge me over £200 this year for the renewal but managed to get them down to about £140. This was obviously a better price but no where as good as AutoAid.

So now I've joined AutoAid at the end of Nov for £36. Superb!

Just had my renewal with autoaid. Noticed that onward travel seems to have been removed. Can anyone shed any light on this?

It is still showing on their website

If a vehicle breaks down while it is more than 25 miles from your home, and it cannot be repaired at the roadside or at a garage during the same day, and is not recovered to your home or destination, we will refund the cost of onward travel arrangements or necessary emergency overnight accommodation.

We will reimburse for the following:

alternative road, rail or air travel for you and your party to reach your destination and for one person to return to collect the vehicle; or

one night's hotel accommodation for you and up to 5 passengers. (The amount we will refund will only be for the rooms. We will not pay for meals or drinks.)

Before you arrange emergency travel or accommodation, you must call the Rescue Control Centre for their agreement. We will only refund amounts covered by this insurance if we receive valid invoices and receipt

    Hi Guys/Gals,

AutoAid sounds brilliant :j , but what does one do if they're involved in an accident  and need their car delivered home?

I read somewhere on this website, that AutoAid will not deliver your vehicle in an accident! Is this correct?

    Thanks

I can't find anything that would cover you for that area, (except if it was stolen), maybe best to phone them and ask specifically before joining, (01277 235 820) although bear in mind it is a "breakdown" service, and I doubt if any of the other breakdown services would cover accidents, that is what your insurance is for and I would suggest that your ins company would recover it under those circumstances, mine will.
