Hi everyone
Complete Savings has asked for a right of reply.
MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the Forum.
Hello Forum Members:
Unfortunately there is a lot of incorrect information about Complete Savings online and as a result, a number of comments posted here on this forum also contain incorrect information. We'd like to take this opportunity to correct that information about Complete Savings.
Complete Savings is a membership programmefor people who shop online regularly and it provide members with online discounts and cashback deals. It is not possible to be registered for Complete Savings based on data from a previous online transaction or by simply ticking a box. People are offered the opportunity to join Complete Savings after completing a purchase at one of our online retail partner's websites. All prospective members must manually enter the following details into the online Complete Savings membership sign up page: their name, email address, postal address and their credit or debit card details. This sign up page clearly states there is a monthly fee - in fact there are at least four references to it, including one in bold at the top of the page. After entering these details on the sign up page, the prospective member must also create a personalised password and then click on a "YES" button to acknowledge they have read and agree to the membership Terms and Conditions and the Offer and Billing details which are clearly stated in text adjacent to the "YES" button. We email new members five emails in their first month of their membership to promote the benefits available to them and to remind them about billing. After this, they are then emailed monthly. Members can easily cancel at any time by contacting our customer service centre.
We will be happy to assist MSE forum members with their queries about Complete Savings. However, it's difficult to do that in a public forum when we don't know who you are and are not able to identify your Complete Savings membership record. If you have a query about Complete Savings and would like our assistance, please contact our customer service centre on 0800 389 6960 or at customerservice@completesavings.co.uk . Alternatively, you can contact me directly at mary@completesavings.co.uk .
Kind regards,

That clears that up then...
I see many posts had to be edited by the forum team too.0 -
I have too discovered that completesave have taken £190 from my account. My case was a catalog firm who I will name if I do not get a full refund.
It appears that they get your details off the company you have purchased something you WANTED.A tiny box asks you would you like a discount and by clicking it it sends all your details too completesave, leading you to believe you are claiming a discount off the catalog firm on the order you made.
I have NEVER had a confirmation Email as if I had I would of stopped all payments immediately and have NEVER received any statements regarding an account I have with them or the discounts I am meant to have been entitled too which I very much doubt would of led to a saving of more than £190 on purchases.
It does not even appear as a Direct Debit on your Bank statements and just as completesave Switzerland so I am only able too see payments for more than the last 120 Days.
I searched for the completesave.co.uk website and I tried to enter the accounts page too see what my account was, I was unable to access this so requested a Password to be sent to my Email account so that I could which has not yet been received.I then proceeded to phone them which appeared to be a Swiss call center and then cancelled it and they said I would get £30 back and a confirmation email. Not yet received.
So I then called my Bank to ensure that any attempt by completesave to take money off me will be stopped and cancelled and that they will also look into see if it is was fraudulent, this is when I discovered that the payments are dated from at least Dec 2012 as they can only go back 12 Months.
With this information I again called completesave and as my account had now been deleted(30 minutes ago) it took a while for the Woman to see it and then She informed me they had taken £190 out of my Bank account and She would re-direct my call which was then cut off.
I then tried the Website again to see what I could access now that I have had contacted them, only for it to inform me that my Account is now closed making me unable to access any details that were on it.
Today I paid a bill into the catalog account and noticed the tiny box offering a 10% discount I didn't dare click it in-case it set up an account again.
I have informed the catalog company that allowed a link too complete save and will no longer do business with them until they can guarantee that this will never happen again.
completesave should tell you from which company they got your details that set up the account.
I would also hope that others will do the same or at least inform them of what happened,as I cannot believe they would be happy with being connected to something that can be extremely harmful to there business.
If completesave were a good and reputable company then customers would be happy to set up accounts with them in the same way they do with Banks and other services like this.
It appears to me that that completesave set up the link in a way that allows people to believe that you are getting a discount directly from the Catalog company on your next purchase, you then send your details to completesave(thinking its with the catalog).
As many have shown here they do not become aware of completesave and do not notice until they get a full Bank statement and inquire about what it is and who completesave are.
completesave do not send you confirmation Emails,Letters or regular statements regarding your account you have with them as this would then alert the customer to the account they have unknowingly set-up leading to them cancelling it.
Customers become so irate at what has happened they will immediately cancel their completesave account which then prevents any information you wish to see on its website about your account. This means that any discount will not be claimed as they are always for theNEXT ORDERand to get it will mean setting up an account with them again(who would want too after that)
While completesave collect money from numerous accounts they will profit from the money that they have taken.
If they do refund what they have taken off you am I entitled to the profit/interest they have earned off my money?
I will be notifying my MP in regards to the manner in how completesave and any other company that behaves in this way and hope others who are upset with what happened to them will do the same.
And if I do not get a full refund I will contact the Financial ombudsmen which will cost completesave £500.0 -
I would encourage anyone who has been duped like myself into signing with them and to take the time to read and follow through with my advice as this is one way we can join together in stopping companies doing this.
Completesave. are fully aware of what they are doing and will not stop until more people go further than just complaining to them and just accepting the refunds. This how they work and then deal with complaints from people who have unknowingly signed up to them
1.When you make a payment by a Website on-line an offer of a discount will be made where most People will believe is directly from the original company such as Train line or Argos and fill in the form believing they are sending Bank details too Train line and not too a Third Party.
2. completesave will then send you a confirmation Email which will almost certainly be blocked or filtered to your Spam and Junk Mail folders and will therefore go unnoticed and deleted. completesave are fully aware of this and is why many are unaware of one being sent.It was the First thing they mentioned when I originally Telephoned them!!!
3.They may send the 30 Day trial is ending Email but then again this will be unnoticed and deleted and this is when you start being charged and have money deducted.
4. They will know exactly who has noticed the accounts being set up completesave then will not send Emails regarding Vouchers and deals offered to the accounts that have not been touched for these 30 Days or more as this may alert the unsuspecting customers who have joined them.
5. You may first notice completesave deducting money off you in your Bank statements which only usually show transactions on the last 90 Days maximum and completesave know full well about this and this is why The First offer will always be £30 or 3 months payments. And hope you leave it at that not realising that more has been taken out.
6. Many People will investigate further and will discover that the payments go further back at which point completesave may payback the full amount, this is again in the hope that most customers leave at being satisfied at a full refund. And not take matters further.
But I would like to encourage everyone who feels they have been duped by completesave and any similar organisations to first contact their Bank and get as much information as possible. Then contact the Firm that allowed the re-directed them to completesave that set up the account to(competesave should tell you who they are). And explain fully as you can how you believe you were duped by completesave also make sure that you mention that you have never noticed an Email regarding any offers or Vouchers for their company from completesave. They may reply with the Emails that are posted by completesave on similar websites and on completesaves website.
Explain to the company that you are no longer able to trust their security and that all offers on its website and all Emails will be treated suspiciously and ignored/deleted as you do not trust that they are solely from it and not a Third Party such as completesave.
I would also encourage everyone to contact

even if you have been refunded. Explain what has happened to you. If enough contact the Ombudsmen I believe enough pressure can be made for persons in power to take notice. And may help prevent others being caught in the same trap in future,Measures and guidelines may also be introduced as they have in the US after the level of complaints that these companies generated.
Also contact your local Media outlets along with National Newspapers and TV consumer shows such as X Ray BBC Wales or Watchdog. If they receive enough complaints that it draws their attention then this will alert responsible companies too completesave and others leading to then cancelling all connections they have with them.It may also alert unsuspecting victims of completesave who have done business with connected companies prompting them to chase up refunds and creating a ''Snowball effect.
This is completesaves goal when they refund you as they know full well that they will be harmed if enough take it further.
Finally If you are not happy with your refund from completesave will have to pay at least £500 to the Ombudsmens for every investigation. This often far more than what it has taken from your account.0 -

Or you could, of course, just read the conditions before you tick the box in the first place, like I did, and avoid the whole ruddy rigmalrole.
And let the company that is in league with, and promoting, this dubious company know how unhappy you as a customer are that they are tied in with it like this."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Hi Greenlands... knowing how these type operate I'll be surprised if you do actually get your money back... but let us know and good luck.
I just received £200 refund out of the blue and didn't even know they had been taking the money. They were helpful when I spoke to them but it was after they had made the refund. Said I had rung them and cancelled! This was also news to me!!!
Quite weird all round

It amazes me how many people don't check their bank / CC statements. I enter all my transactions in a spread sheet, and reconcile it with my on line statements several times a week. I can tell you what my current account balance should be on any day over the next month!0

I too have seen this little pop up add after I have made an online purchase.
All I can say is, the old adage :
"you don't get out for nowt"
would be very appropriate in this case.
Never tick any boxes without reading why you need to tick the box.
Never give over your card details in order to obtain a "discount".
Always check your statements regularly.
In my opinion the adds can be misleading, as one previous poster said :
"all I could see was the £10 discount".
