Catowen, I just wanted to let you know that although you (and many others) may sometimes feel ignored, you are very memorable......I have a picture in my mind of you standing on a toilet and breaking it!:rotfl:

Hope everyone feels loved-up today. I think you all are fab and as soon as anything noteworthy happens in my life I'll post about it. :p

This is going to be a very self-wallowing post so anyone who's feeling good should probably just skip it...

I don't know what the heck is wrong with me. I just feel so down and sorry for myself. I have loads of uni work to do and am scraping by on the bare minimum and it's really getting to me.

I went out for a meal with a group of friends last night, usually I love going out with them but I just didn't feel myself and pretty much just sat in a corner by myself all night.

I feel like I can't be bothered doing anything and therefore have done nothing. OH doesn't seem to understand and just thinks I am being lazy, but I really can't see the point in trying to do anything because I haven't got the time to finish it, so I don't see the point IYKWIM...

I don't even know why I'm posting this as I don't know what's up with me - maybe it's the weather or something? My mum has booked to take me and my sisters to Barcelona in April so maybe that will cheer me up? At the minute I don't even feel like I want to go. I just want to curl up in bed and let the world get on with itself...

    Sorry for being so down...

Come on Roz-V, IKWYM, but you are seriously going to regret doing the bare minimum on your uni work when you get a grade you don't want and know you could have done better. Sympathy on this occasion is not what you need, and you know why you have posted this, cos you are trying to give yourself a kick where it hurts, but can't quite manage it at the moment.

This isn't coming from a smart a$$ but someone who is doing something similar with her Spanish at the moment, but mine doesn't lead to exams.

Start a piece of your uni work, set yourself a timetable, and it may just lead to you getting yourself together. You are not going to feel good about yourself until you start trying. Do you work better at home or in the Library, I know my DS works better in the library where there are fewer distractions. Start a piece and forget OS, Housework, and if OH starves tuf. Make a goal of not going back to the housework, etc., until it is finished, but give the piece the attention it deserves for the grade you can achieve.

Curling up in bed will not make you feel better, you will only lie there thinking about what you should be doing.

I will be asking how you are getting on with your pieces, and I am very good at being a "nag" for what have you got to do, when is it due in, have you started it yet, how many words, how many have you written so far, etc., etc., you ask my DS.

    Hello everybody,

Long time, no see. :D At the library again but hopefully our wireless card should turn up tomorrow and I can get internet on DH laptop. If not then next week. Have settled in pretty well although I have been homesick. DD rang up yesterday morning and we talked for 3 hours :D so my mind has been put to rest that all is well. It's been "challenging" living with strangers although they are family to say the least.

We are just pottering around here atm and want to chill out a bit longer before we look for work. It's been lovely to have a bit of relaxation when we were so busy with the house before.

I have only skimmed the thread today as I have done everytime I'm on lately as I'm forever beating a clock but I hope you are all well and happy.

Big hugs to those who feel a bit left out or unhappy. I'm guilty of not responding to everyone's news lately and have even stopped thanking cos that takes minutes off the clock ;) but I do enjoy reading the thread, and half the time I have nothing but dribble to post so I'll still keep posting dribble. :D

OK.........bye for now and will tell you the goss when I get online. ;) xxx Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

I've been reading through the threads with interest.

I try to post most days but sometimes I just don't feel that my day is interesting enough. I do read the thread every day though. Unfortunately my thanks button on my works computer doesn't work and I'm not very good at giving advice or support in writing (although I do it everyday verbally as part of my job). I'm sure that others feel exactly the same and would rather leave the support and advice to those who do it better.

I have to say that when I announced I was going to be a nana I had loads of congratulations which made me feel really good.

So thanks everyone, keep posting and I'll keep reading.

Hello Everyone, especially those who are feeling under the weather today. I am looking forward to meeting a friend today and, courtesy to Orange Wednesday, going to see Hannibal Rising  . I love horror films, supernatural would be better but in the meantime I settle for the old serial killer genre ( as you can see, I have such a healthy taste in movies...;) ).

Wishing you all a nice rest of the day and sending motivation to those lacking it. I know how you feel, I felt really demotivated couple of weeks ago. I had to drag myself to do necessary stuff, that's not like me at all. Maybe it's this time of year?

    Here goes again....

    Hello All!
(wave across Thames to CM) - at least you go to the gym every morning.

Oh Shez, I wish!! I aim to go to the gym 3 times a week, but don't always make that:rotfl: :rotfl: And believe me, if you met me you'd not believe I knew the address let alone go there!!:o Ask ivyleaf, she's seen the very ample me!!! (on second thoughts don't ask ivyleaf, she's far too lovely to tell you !) I'm sure the people who I meet coming in as I go out think I'm the cleaner or the drinks machine filler:D I'm hoping that when the diet kicks in again I may look better for going to the gym (those pancakes were calorie-free weren't they ivyleaf?:rotfl: )

Catowen, I think you've done us a big favour today! Everyone seems to be thinking a bit more about the responses we make. I for one will not think that it doesn't matter if I don't respond to certain posts because "everyone else will". Sometimes when we're pushed for time it seems too much to type a message, but when you think about it one sentence aimed at a friend who needs a hug takes only seconds, and I'm sure nobody else would mind not being included. Well that's my thoughts anyway:o :o

I've not got a great deal done today, feel a bit like a hamster on a wheel, peddling furiously, but not actually going anywhere:rotfl: Moggins would have a fit if she saw my house! Come to think of it she'd probably refuse to enter:o Back to it then !

    Bye

Edited to say, hiya Aussie!!! Look forward to you getting internet access.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

well i have just written a long piece and it is now winging its way through the ether somewhere
Catowen I am so sorry if i was one of the people you thought ignored you i didnt realise how much your friends going had upset you I am truly sorry
I have to say i thank everyone who posts just because i think it is polite but that is just me i dont expect everyone to do the same each to their own
I have to say i have been thinking about not posting on the board anymore for the last few days I just feel there has been a bit of an atmosphere people saying things about others without mentioning names and just causing worries to people that need not be there
I dont want to upset anyone on here but this is just how I feel and because we are all such a friendly bunch i feel that we can all voice our opinions without fear of recourse
hope everyone has a better eve
  • Afternoon all :)

God i'm bored today, DD still not well, stuck in the house. Have made soup and bolognese and burgers, house is sparkling but i'm still restless! Might bake a cake for my dad in a bit.

The man from the estate agents came to do a property check on my house earlier (its rented) and he said it was the cleanest, most well-looked after rental property that he inspects :):):) I'm so proud lol. He asked me what i was cooking and so i launched into a big explanation about O/S and cooking from scratch etc lol - Probably scared the poor bloke lol, he seemed impressed anyway :)

B - Shreddies, orange juice, tea
D - HM Carrot and Lentil soup, bread, yoghurt
T - HM burgers, potato wedges, salad

Hope everyone is ok :) Take care

    Kate xxx
