Stop making me cry you lot - its all fine, its amicable and he and i will probably always be friends. we both needed to grow up and sort out the situation we were in, I had planned to do it before he went home to get aintree out of the way and to give me time to get used to being without him (see - this wasnt all that unexpected at all!) He just doesnt love me. To be fair, we werent meant to be anyting other than good mates with benefits - i didnt mean to fall in love with him, but now all i have to do is fall out of it. Its a good thing that Im not nearby - at least I dont have to see him socially or anything like that!!

but thankyou everyone - some of you went through it this time last year with me too - and its much better than that, cos at least its not been done so he can get back with an ex that I know will destroy him.

    xx

ANYWAY - FAR more imprtant than my broken heart - does anyone know roughly how much gel nails are, and can you have a french manicure in gel?? Just thinking about when i go to aintree - im going up on the tuesday and staying there till the sunday, so need something that I can hopefully keep on all that time, that will last through me doing horsey things as well?? I dont do nail bars very often at all, so I have no idea what to ask for - I love the minx nails, but think they wil be WAY too expensive??

I'm really sorry about your OH. :( You sound like you're handling it remarkably well, but I'm sending hugs all the same. Sorry that I have no idea about manicures! I did laugh when you wrote "ANYWAY - FAR more important..." :rotfl:

In the spirit of Trudij, I was down because I had a stinking letter from stinking A T O S (the peeps doing all the Incapacity Benefit reviews). I'm very stressed about the whole process but shall not go into it here.

FAR MORE IMPORTANT (:rotfl:) I received my Jolie Box and it's fantastic! I won't write what I got as I don't want to spoil it for others, but it's a good 'un. :j

There's more that I'd like to reply to but my brain isn't up to much yet (I only managed four hours sleep. :( It's incredibly rare for me to have a morning...)

I pay £25 for my gel manicure in one of those small "American Style" nail salons that have sprung up all over south london.

Does last me age though, although some people dont have quite as good experiences with them, suppose it depends what you do with your nails!

Sorry to hear about your breakup Trudij, hugs.
Hope Red is doing well. :)

Two OUTs this morning (I'm having a bit of a clearout as i've got two days off)
Benefit Boi-ing concealer no.2. Far too dark for me, bought the wrong colour and its now too old to do anything with.
Benefit That gal mini face primer 7.5ml. I didn't like this when I first bought this, and hung on to it, with the hope of eventually using it up.

I've also got spluttering face scrub, conditioner and body butter :j

    One IN:
BS Morrocan rose body butter 50ml- A sneaky CS bargain! Completely unnecessary purchase. :(

Re Gels nails, do you mean the false nails or the gel colours. I usually get the Jessica Gel Colours done every month (except this month as have been using them continously for nearly 2 years, so given them a well earnt break). I think they are great, no chiping or peeling lasts for ages. Also you don't have to worry about smudging them when your waiting for them to dry. I've also had french manacure done in the Gel Colours and it looked lovely. I think my costs around £28 (sorry can't remember exactly) and the price depends on if you get just a file and polish or full manacure. Hope that helps

my HG is cliniques moisture surge, there is a gel, a new one called moisture surge intense and a spray.I have used the gel for years and use the spray (on top of make up) or on planes to keep hydrated and have just bought the new one after the sa recomended it,they also do a tinted moisturiser which I now wear in stead of foundation(you can see I do like it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
the gel and new one cost £30 and think the foudation is about £21 but you could get a sample from the sa if you ask nicely!

With you on the Moisture surge tinted moisturiser - lovely stuff isn't it, and you're right, it DOES work instead of foundation. :D

Trudi - you are so much better off without him, but then you know that. Only you can know whether the staying friends thing will work - you might decide long term that civil is workable, friends, less so.

A UU to report - John Frieda Beautiful Brunette Conditioner WIBA? Yes, for the right price. I suspct that the likelihood of getting it as cheap as the last lot (*that* Mr T's Glitch the other year!) is unlikely though! Does a nice job, and is heavy-duty enough for my hair too. I've pulled that Glamour freebie one out of the stash to go on to - that will see me through the remainder of the tube of JF shampoo hopefully.
