not many go to jail for theft as companies wouldn't want bad publicity. Plus part of the money she took was her own on in fact all of it!amazingcookie wrote: »She should resign instead of making a fuss and looking around for a Union to represent her. If she's going to find legal advice to keep her job she's tempting her employer to call the police. No she's not honest, and no she doesn't deserve to keep her job, and yes she deserves to go to jail for theft.0 -

That's a bit heavy, jail!!!It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0 -
I can see the legal niceties of whether this was actually theft or not, but this isn't a court of law.
Unfortunately, the lie (and I would've probably done the same) has almost certainly doomed her job. If they need to cut their staffing costs and want to dismiss her instead of a verbal or written warning, and to save them the cost of making her redundant, they now can.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

I'm sorry but I came on here to ask for genuine advice for a genuine friend. I didn't need this advice. Are you completely above everybody else and not a human being? My son takes biscuits out the cupboard without asking, soes he deserve to go to jail too?! Grow up0 -
how much did she take and was this after she had put her stake in? If so how much was the stake she paid?kitkatt1982 wrote: »I'm sorry but I came on here to ask for genuine advice for a genuine friend. I didn't need this advice. Jeez O'..The girl borrowed money to get a bus ! Big deal...Yeah she should have put an IOU or something to let the others know she would repay it and she should have came clean straight away when questioned by her boss.
But she didn't for whatever reason.....nerves...embarrassed.....the list goes on......
And people on here saying she should resign before being sacked/police involvement/jail etc..... Get a grip.
If police were called about that hopefully someone normal and on planet earth would apply common sense....for whatever she took for the bus and explained she intended to repay it. Maybe a ticking off max !!!
Obviously her colleagues don't like her, why didn't they just say...did you take money from the lottery fund? if so why? before going running to a boss.
I am not saying what she did or said/didn't say was right...but she hasn't exactly killed someone and I doubt she will get the sack for a few quid for the bus !!!:eek::eek:
BTW if her so called colleagues think she's a thief ? Can they prove she had NO intention of actually putting the "Serve a life sentence" bus money back ?0 -

What exactly is in those cookies of yours? I suspect they may land YOU in jail if we called the police
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
