Can you make polls on this forum, and make the results annoymous? It would be interesting to see if people would admit to having many different accounts and ignoring household limits, etc. I don't have the time or energy to do or be more than envious (I admit it!) of the people who win all the time, but it would be interesting to see how many stick to simple filling out forms once and how many "cheat", as it were. If anyone would admit their technique, that is :p

The vote comps seem very dodgy, i bookmarked one that had 30 odd entries and the top vote was like 12, suddenly there was a new entry and with 67mins it had 47 votes?????????????

Also as andrea has posted thought id just say why isnt the comps forum split into catagories, ie. Voting comps - Film comps - Holiday comps etc would make things so much easier and there wouldnt be so many dupes, and sometimes if a dupe isnt spotted you can accidently reenter it thus making your entry void.
Just a thought - keep up the good work...

    GOOD LUCK COMPERS

According to the law of averages we should all win something if we enter enough comps. However, I do think some people are luckier than others. I used to know this woman who had won £138,000 on the football pools and she had won other things as well, quite substantial things.

I used to give her daughter a lift to school and I remember having an argument with her about the improbability of winning the lottery. She thought that they were going to win it and the following weekend the daughter phoned me to say that they had just won £2,000 on the lottery, which is more in itself than I have ever won in one go.

I'm pretty decent at drawing and painting but I couldn't be bothered spending days rendering something on the slight of chance that it might win a prize in a competition.I would rather just keep entering the random comps.

I just did this for a Smeg Fridge competition, I'm terrible :rotfl: I don't really expect it to win, but it's so rare nowadays that I can motivate myself to draw anything I don't mind. Anything that does works.

Still nothing so far this month, thinking really really hard about winning that iPad though ;)

Hundreds and hundreds of comps later and still nothing :( And lately I've been seeing a lot of people on the board who haven't won anything before over a long period winning their first things recently, in less time than me, and it's beginning to get to me a little if I'm being honest. No amount of wishing, positive thinking, visualising, etc is helping. I do the same as others, enter on FB and blog posts, do effort comps, etc and not a single thing. Clearly it just isn't happening for me and for some reason I am not lucky at all. If we're going to get a little more emo, I don't have much going for me offline (literally no friends, hermit, student but with the OU, unwell, etc) and tbh a win would be a really nice thing to have, something good to remember and think about, if that makes sense? Especially if it were something like an iPad :rotfl:

I can whine in my own thread right? :D

If you're reading, tell me about the best surprise wins you've ever had? :)

If it makes you feel any better sweetie, that probably describes at least 20% of everyone on the forum. Certainly describes me - well, apart from the OU bit. My BA and MA belong to life pre-Lupus when I thought I was going to have a glittering career and enough disposable income to buy as many iPads as I liked :rotfl:

Now I get overly-excited about unfranked stamps on my post :o

It is the 19th March and it'll soon be time for what have we all won in March ?

I guess for most (including me) it'll be S>F>A> !!!

In reality we have little chance (a chance) of winning these hugely oversubscribed competitions!!!!!!

Pechow, pechow, now that dell comp is ruddy awesome and u know it, i think you had the right idea, think my 'lateral' idea was far too 'lateral'. But today ive 100% sure ive virtually hit the nail on the head (said whilst faling off the floor laughing) but we'll see, as for not winning, well ive won a few 'bits' but 'blagged' a couple also - i actually tweeted to the md - real actual MD of a major company that if i didnt get a prize of any sort i would sell my cats - he actually tweeted back and said i neednt do that and he has 'given' me and my partner a prize value around 100.00!!!! im not saying do that, but just be EVEN more inventive come up with a strategy each week ie..this im gonna be cheeky, or im gonna be ultra overly polite in a creepy way, or im gonna be matter of fact, just do something you havent done before and the magic will begin.........:T:T:T:T:beer::j

Yeah, I'm a bit over focused on how once I get my degree (hopefully...) I'll finally have something of worth about myself-just don't ask me what the heck I'm going to do with it :D

I'm probably being stupid here (hey, it's late!) but what does this mean?
