Ultimately it's down to luck! But you can help yourself by entering more than you do. I enter comps that only interest me or someone I know, this means when I do win I know it's going to awesome!!
I enter comps at work whenever I have free time and have system to do it fast as possible. If you want to improve your odds enter comps that have more than one prize, skill based comps or ones in your local area.
Good luck!! :jThanks to all who post comps!

I really feel for you, i enter around 80 comps a day and have won 7 small things in 2 years, (some ear rings that were lovely tho)
I only started to pass time on because my life was so rubbish and miserable, it's still the same 2 years on, plus nothing to cheer me up as in luck and prizes.
(sorry, very fed up with everything and hate my rubbish life at the moment)
Anyway, moan over, wishing you lots of luck0 -
Well i have been comping hard since January (after a year off with no luck the first time around) , and i had the same, very little. UNTIL THIS WEEK! I won a £600 brita filter tap and then on Monday won a family holiday to Switzerland! I dont know what the answer is, I do as many as i possibly can, but some days i dont have the time to do any at all. I am over the moon with my wins and am very, very, grateful. I really think the answer is to keep at it, and like someone before said, The excitement of emails, postman etc is great! Good luck and i hope your turn for a lovely win comes soon xxx0

Must admit this year has been really slow compared to last, I've been lucky to get more than one win a month (not complaining) whereas last year I had as many as 16...0

Nah, feel free to moan if you like in this thread, I certainly do! We seem to be in a similar boat, hope something nice comes your way soon too.
I wonder, if you were able to get numbers, what the increase in people entering comps would be over the past year or so, what with increasing money worries for everyone. Of course there are the few that seem to win everything going, but a lot of compers say that this year and last haven't been as good, so it would be interesting to see.0 -
I had a nice win when I first started comping but I haven't won anything from comping in years. Now I still I do the ITV comps regularly and every so often I enter a load of comps in one go but not like I used to back when I first started and it felt like I was doing maybe 30 a day, I've pretty much now given up hope on the big win though2007 Won Ipod 30GB Video Sold on ebay for £136.51
Total Winnings in 2007 = £136.51 :T
Total Winnings In 2008/2009/2010 = £0
Total Winnings In 2011 = £305.37 (49s Lotto):D
Total Winnings In 2012/13/14/15/16/17/18 = 0
Total Winnings This Year = £0 :mad:0 -
Just wondering if anyone has won any of the Closer magazine online competitions?
I just find their website a little odd plus they don't keep a winners list and theres never any comments on their comp articles.0 -

Your signature says you've won something last year? Or am I misreading it? How often do you enter now, and do you enter on FB? A lot of people seem to have luck there, and Twitter.0 -
Peechow, I can't believe you still haven't won anything. We've GOT TO get you off the ground on this. Every time I check this thread, I keep hoping you've popped back to say, 'good news...'
My hunch is that although you enter lots of comps, perhaps you mainly enter the popular ones? Why not have a splurge and enter more comps, and definitely comps that are less popular/have fewer thanks. If it's for something you don't want, perhaps you could give it to your local charity shop? Just to break your duck?
I would recommend doing FB and Twitter comps. Some are easier than others, so start by doing the easy ones. Assuming you're signed up to both of these, try this - if you want to:
Twitter: enter all the competwitions - they are the easiest. Just one click and it does everything for you. Also lots of twitter comps are posted by kind souls who provide one link to 'follow' and another to 'retweet' these are dead simple too. Give it a go?
Facebook: Similarly, go for ones that have one link for 'like' and another to 'like and share'. They're the easiest.
Finally, do PM me if you'd like a little more encouragement or anything. I'd absolutely love to see you win something soonI am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!
When you talk down to others it says more about you than them.0 -
I definitely don't just enter the popular ones, I'm open to all kinds of things
I stop short of entering, say, comps for baby items when I don't have kids, but otherwise I'm pretty free in what I enter. And I try to enter as many effort comps as I can, but no luck yet.
I do FB comps, but still haven't got around to getting a Twitter account yet. Partly keep forgetting, and I guess partly an attitude of "well the others haven't worked, why would this one".
So many things I'd like... maybe if I list them and wish REALLY REALLY HARD. :rotfl:0
