think you have missed some digits off the peak

did you install cleanmem, and uninstall all google software and hp printer software?

    scan with tdsskiller

    http://support.kaspersky.com/downloads/utils/tdsskiller.zip

if you go into control panel, is there no java icon?

    Whoops yes peak was 222700

I did install cleanmem was I meant to do anything with it I assumed it just ran in background?

I uninstalled all google software I think but not the hp printer stuff that was next on my list to look at was trying to do the easier stuff first so to speak.

Should I do that before scanning with tdsskiller??

    any order

also go to c:\windows\tasks in windows explorer

and delete the google update task

cleanmem does run in the background, but doesn't appear on the log

no forget about cleanmen if you installed it - the only place it will show is in add/remove programs, and a windows task which will run it every so often - As I can't tell from the log, I can't tell if you did it, which is the only reason I asked.

windows explorer is the program you use to browse the c: drive and see files, right click on start button, then explore
to c:\windows\tasks, delete the google update task
