I too haven't posted much because didn't want to depress everyone. Another no spend day today but have to go and collect other car from garage so am feeling very apprehensive after the horrendous bill we got last week.

I have thought long and hard about what little thing I would like to treat myself to when I can spend and I am going to buy some really good hair conditioner. I was okay as had DD at home and was just pinching hers but now that she is away and I only have males (other than me!) in my household I am struggling to find anything to use.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Maybe the M&S one that has flecks of gold in it... it's intriguing but I don't really like the thought of ingesting metal.

So I'd probably opt for a Green & Black Dark chocolate one.

But what I'd REALLY like is a bottle of red wine. Any old £2.99 wine would be fine for me.

Although I've not taken part in this challenge I feel I still had to post after reading the last two days postings.....

You guys have done brilliant. You really should give yourself a huge pat on the back... And you have such brilliant support on here... Keep smiling...

I'm looking forward to joining in the new challenge. It's amazing when you don't keep an eye on what you are spending how out of control it gets... As I've realised this month and quite ashamed if truth be known....

Keep smiling everyone you are nearly there..
  • Instead of an Easter Egg can I have some chocolates from Hotel Chocolat, or maybe one of the Lush Easter Egg bath bombs. I have to say, I am tempted with the Lush Easter Egg as I have £20 of vouchers that I got for Christmas, but I made a deal with myself not to buy anymore lush stuff until I've used up everything I already have.

My major clear out and flog it is going pretty well, am slowly selling clothes that I haven't worn in years because they are too small. I've finally decided to part with my corsets, which would be £160 quid if all 4 of them sold. Probably some of the most expensive items of clothing I own at over £100 quid new, then again I also have several pairs of boots that I paid that price for too. Back in the days when I had lots of spare cash and nothing better to spend it on......

:hello: :hello: :hello: Hi Guys - Haven't been on properly for a couple of days as have been too busy, but apart from being absolutely knackered from work I fill pretty damn good!! We are nearing the end of this wonderful challenge and I never thought I would have gotten so far with spending so little - throughout the whole challenge have only spent £3.99 on potato seeds (but was decided that it was food so okay there) and £2 on the tooth fairy for my little DD, but apart from food, petrol and school dinners no extra extravagants have been spent :D No chocolate, no wine (although have scrounged the odd glass or two from friends and neighbours :rotfl: ) no clothes, shoes, or haircuts ..... and I have survived.

If I could have any chocolate egg in the whole wide world mine would be 6ft tall and would have Shayne Ward wrapped in a bag inside and he would be for me to nibble on when I fancied a bit :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well done to us all - everyone pat yourself on the back and give yourself a big kiss. We deserve it and look at what we have achieved by this challenge, I bet we are all better off, both financially and spiriturally (not getting all religious here, but couldn't think of another word!!) from our tremendous achievements.

Sorry, will stop waffling now and let someone else have a turn.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:

Oh Shirl .. I had almost forgotten about lush & they have a really expensive sister site called 'never to be busy to be beautiful!!' What with Lush & Hotel Chocolat i would be in heaven!! Strange to say 3 months ago i would have spent in those shops and never flinched at the amount that went on CC ..but now!!!

Think we are all suffering from anticlimactic feelings - if there is such a word!!

I remember many years ago when we had money after a few tight years and couldn't bring myself to spend! (didn't take too long to get over it though!)

So I am off to have an early night - tomorrow will go to work and shake every on up - will do a half day on Friday (double time!!) & treat myself on Saturday - perhaps not chocolate - maybe new shoes!!
Saw the link in Martin's news letter about recycling old bras so will have a sort out and prepare for the next challenge!!

I do like spring so will sort out our little garden and make cakes!
Will that do for positive folks??

brassiclint - it is weird that we all feel the same, but keep up the good work - you can pray for forgiveness about chocolate, wheat & even weight watchers (if you pay next weeks subs!!) but don't ever spend unnecessarily!!

Oh Oh we're nearly there - oh oh living on a prayer!

thanks pippo ... i'm in a MUCH better mood today. got my offer letter from HSBC for reclaimed bank charges they've offered to settle for just under £2k (on two accounts). i was most pleased with this, but have asked for £100 more on one account as since I've commenced the claim i've been charged that amount.

now what do i spend it on? of course, first things first ... i get my jeans!! i want to put £1000 on my credit card and clear the £300 overdraft on our joint account. we owe £131 electricity and £500ish on gas (long story, British Gas and our !!!!-up so they're letting us pay it back slowly). i'd also like to put some in our wedding account, or put some (£300??) aside for holiday in case we get to go away. But obviously dont have enough to do all this.

I'm thinking maybe clear the gas debt as we're currently paying £60. The electricty debt will be cleared in a few months anyway as we're paying £40 a month but only using around £20. Gas is soooo expensive ... might have to look into changing suppliers. How much gas does everyone else use (if you don't mind me asking). We have gas central heating and also have a gas oven and hob.

and in answer to your quesion CAFCGirl ... I'd have Thorntons Toffee Egg ... has tiny pieces of toffee in the shell ... MMMMmmmmmm
