    KICK

Set a timer for 15 minutes, do housework for that time and then stop (unless you don't want to). Atleast you'll feel better for doing some.

    I cried!

You lot are so sweet to me :)

I love you all....... and it's not for your money, so that makes it even better :)
    lol

Its another non spender for me, and if all goes well till April payday I'll probs have another £75 or so to launch full pelt at a debt (and thanks to the power of Snowball, I know exactly which one!) Therefore I could possibly edge my DF date into 2008 for the cards! Woohoo.

But lets not get ahead of myself....
I've got further issues with the bf to address and PMT to come, two things more likely to lead to unnecesary and unforgivable spending for a woman!

Set myself up with a little project at work which I'm viewing for the long term prospects and my further career (in years to come!), and it'll go to my bosses and make me look like something special, and thats my weekend taken care of!

hi Folks, I have also voted for CAFCGirl as I would have never got this far without such dedicated encouragement.

I spoke to DH when he came home for lunch today and he has agreed to 'tighten his belt' , although as he said it has been very tight for a long time now. I realise now that I do still need to continue the challenge as I could see it making a difference in our bank balance. So huge thanks to those who helped me to survive last night and prevented me from completely losing the plot. We have come a long way and just need to try to continue saving money and I can now think of no better way of doing it than continuing this and the next challenge.
I have had another no spend day today too.

You could combine the two, and use the PMT to "subdue" the BF. No biting below the belt though... :naughty:

    You ruin all my fun!!!

First batch cook currently on! Should (hopefully) in the long run save me some money!

Although must confess that temptation has started to rear it's ugly head, but I'm doing everything I can to push it down. I think it's just because I was ill at the start of the week, and have missed quite a lot of sleep in the past couple of days, so my emotions are telling me to make myself feel better, and normally that would have been through spending, even before this challenge!

I left my purse and cash at home this morning because I felt it would be a toughie..... was very tired..... and in all honesty I probably would have spent money if I'd had any on me, only on something like some chocolate/a muffin but still.
Who knows, maybe finishing this challenge and the next one will help me, and maybe some other people? address some other issues.... as to why we feel the need to spend silly money....

At least with my own little project for motivation I'll have something to relieve the boredom since I'm not seeing the BF for a week or so, as long as I dont go tricking myself into spending money on it, it should be fine....

One week until payday - with no more spends due - I have the following:

£69.67 in one account (usually overdrawn by some £200 each month:eek: )
£18.21 in bill account (usually overdrawn by some £90 each month  )
£42.35 in extras account (pays for brownies, english lessons for DS, school dinners etc) - although starting on packed lunches next week - 1st month of having this account - opened it for the challenge ;)
£56.47 in CREDIT on credit card - (usually owe around £300/£400 each month)
£91.01 left in petrol account - (usually all spent and any left has been 'robbed' by this time:D )

So all in all - doing pretty damn well :D (oops sorry didn't mean to swear):o

Hi Gang, sorry haven't been on for a couple of days as have been soooooo busy!!! Anyway, if you look at my post above this is what I have managed to achieve whilst doing this challenge and it is brill:j :j Never thought I could have saved so much and spent so little :rotfl: And not sure if any of you can remember about my battle of whether to buy the pot or not? Well guess what, the final order date of 23/03 came and went and I DIDN'T order it in the end. No, decided I would buy a normal terracotta one (when lent is over) and decorate it myself. Decided it was a 'want' rather than a 'need' and £80+ was a bit extravagant and I know my dad would understand!!!

I too have voted for CAFCGirl for Post of the Month as she is my heroine :A
Wouldn't be where I am today if she hadn't thought of this challenge!!!

Onwards and upwards - can't wait for the Unnecessary Challenge to commence (mind you am looking forward to week's break!).
