WOW!
I am totally amzed, everyone appears to be very strong and super motivated....
I did wonder what might happen when I read your first post Kiwi, but getting the hubby to pay the £1 is a fabulous trick for us to all try and harness in this challenge....
Obviously using our own OH's/Partners etc, otherwise that'd just be............... well odd honestly!
Ciara, my advice hun would be simply do not take any money with you at all. If you're catch the bus take the exact amount or as little as poss, if its not on you, it cant get off
I must confess to be really glad and a little bit fuzzy inside that people are finding the challenge helpful. It's not really as difficult as the outside world may think it is!
I've got Day Number 2 in as a total no spender, had my super breakfast to fill me with energy, didnt go out of the shop today, miserable weather helped, took lunch with me, had loads to do, or should I say found loads to doand more importantly I didnt have any money on me!!!!!!!
Thats my sole way of getting thru this I think. I'm dreadful with temptation.
So now, temptation is still there, but the means to succumb are not.....
Martin says No people!!!!
P.S Has anyone secretly said this to themselves?!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Only bought some veg from the market, no sweets or other treats!
Had to pick up DD's bf's bithday present from supermarket, but went in and out in seconds (well, would have been if not stuck in queue). Actually, wasn't even tempted to look at the magazines or reduced items and felt great :jHe who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

Day two coming to a close and no money spent :j
Instead I have stayed indoors and done my first matched bet, so ended up with more money at the end of the day than when I started. So far so good....
Hope things are going well for you all, only 38 days to go....:rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
ahhh but think 38 days of not having to consider whether or not you can afford it....
not having to comprimise between two choices.....
And you know why?!?
Because :money: Martin Says No :money:

day 2 = no spend :T i think this will be easier than i thought :rotfl: no purse taken with me today and i didnt even have the urge... i am even taking some pre filled hot choc mugs to work and using the microwave to boil some water :rotfl: thus saving me 15p each day... i must say though i brought them last october so i hope they are still in date :rotfl: bring on tommorow0

Well done PAP!
Hot chocolate never dies, I'm convinced of it!
Great to hear we're all managing and doing it pretty damn well if I do say so.
I'm slightly nervous how tomorrow will be for me. My mum is coming to visit, bringing some more boxes for me to pack with etc, going to show her where my new flat is, and she likes to have a walk through the city centre..... will try my hand at simply "forgetting" my purse again lol....
In all honesty I just dont actually need anything..... I will in a week or so, but thats thenWealth is not measured by currency0 -
I think that we will be able to find a way around any necessities (spelling?) that occur that are unplanned for if we put our heads together and search the forums.
I think that if a crisis occurs we should all follow the following 3 point action plan:
1. stay calm and breathe
2. think 'Martin says 'No'
3. post on here as soon as possible to gain max inputJUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
Can I join in too ? I'd already decided to cut out the unnecessary spending as more often than not it involves food and this way I'll save money and lose weight (hopefully). Haven't spent anything either today or yesterday (other than the planned grocery shop and stuck to the list, so that's ok). Hopefully joining in on here I'll stick with it for the duration.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0
