Was it booked pre the challenge? And did you know it was gonna happen and did you make sure you had money set aside for it?

If the answer to the above is Yes, then its excused :p

No and No - I just woke up this morning and thought yuk

but I've had a good DFW day as I got paid almost twice what I was expecting, and I got offered some more freelance work, so I'm not too gutted about the waxing.

Still intend to stick to this for the remaining 39 days though.

    Hiya
Well yesterday was a success and today is going to be success too! I need to pop to the shops to buy a few groceries but that's fine as we need to eat. I've got college tonight and i'm not going to take any money so I can't buy a drink and chocolate at break time. I'll take stuff with me instead.
Hope it's going well for everyone else. xx

  • Oh No, I am going into town this afternoon
Must be strong, must be strong, remember Martin says NO :money:
Will leave cards at home and only take £10 as I have £15 voucher for a top so will really try and find a bargain and not add to the balance but just in case :o

Ok back from town and spent a total of £1. Couldn't find a top for £15 but found one for £16

However, the best is yet to come because hubby gave me the £1 instead of me breaking a £10 note bless him :T (In order to make this more challenging I haven't told him I'm doing this challenge. That way I can't be tempted and cheat by using our/his money)

    So No Spend Today :j

No spend day for me today!!!!

3 things sold so far on ebay plus more to finish before end of day.

I've been on my hands and knees for the last half hour doing living room carpet!!!! I looked on freecycle and replied to a couple but haven't heard anything yet - am going to check again tonight and start planning my 3 yr olds 4th b'day party on 17/03. When I moved house recently I found loads of paper plates etc left from her 2nd B'day party so I'm using all of those up. I've got a free venue and bouncy castle (friend owns a nursery) so I'm going to check all the birthday threads I can find - does anyone know of any good ones?

I'm loving this challenge - THANKS CAFCGirl u have saved me plenty of temptation already and it's only day 2!!!

    Hey all!
Day 2 went well, had to get petrol but went straight to till and avoided the chocolate. Tomorrow may be a problem as am going into town to job centre and am in a routine of getting a magazine, diet coke and sauage roll from our local baker (thankfully its 26 miles away so the temptation isnt always there!) need to be strong

I only spent money on food today.

Conscience compels me to admit this happened in Waitrose. But I did buy lots of reduced stuff, and nothing organic, so I think it qualifies as essential spending and not luxuries.

I gave my Auntie a homemade birthday card and no present - without this challenge I would have bought both card and present so I've saved a few quid there.

I also 'earned' £25 by having a financial review. Alliance & Leicester are giving £25 cashback for letting one of their advisors frighten you with lurid speculations about what would happen to your children if you ever found yourself unable to work.

Tomorrow should be a real NSD - I have to take cakes to a school beetle drive so will bake muffins. Proud that I didnt buy something in Waitrose.
