I'm thinking I'll start a new one sometime soon, focus on moving forward rather than looking back!

    Howdy all

Ciara I would LOVE to come to the Hebrides so book me in for a visit when I'm debt free. CAFCgirl I am actually coming down your way in June - my dad wants to celebrate his 75th birthday by walking the pilgrims way and I'm going to accompany him on the last leg. Might contact you nearer the time for advice on a nice cheap restaurant to celebrate when we get there.

Anyway... nsd for me today but I expect I'll spend a bit tomorrow - I'm doing a carboot sale (yes, despite the gale force winds) and three of my children are determined to accompany me. I've had to promise to wake them up at 6. I'm not sure they will be able to stand six hours in a windy carpark without being given some of the takings to spend replacing the junk we've cleared. Of course I will be taking thermoses and sandwiches, and even home-made flapjacks if I get round to it (thanks brassiclint).

  • being catholic (ahem) i have it on good authority that you're allowed to lapse, however many times as it takes, as long as you keep trying. so PAP, as long as you repent, say 2 hail fathers and 4 hail mary's, you'll be forgiven and you can start again tomorrow with a clean slate.

don't suppose you have any irish in you? if so, it's an irish tradition that you receive special dispensation on st paddy's day (obviously brought about by the numerous irish men who take the pledge for lent but still want to celebrate the day of their patron saint) ... i've been living by this rule for years and had a chocolate brownie today (so broke two of my three lents .. chocolate and wheat ... but it was made by lil' sis so NSD for me!).

    good night ladies x

Hey Pap nobodies allowed to leave, we need all the support we can get :rotfl: especially now we're in the home stretch :rotfl:

I'm off to Tescos today for some top up shopping, on Mothers Day, with the kids and all the nice things Tesco's have got in for Mothers Day  I wonder if I can incorporate a spend and include it in the grocery budget  :rotfl:

It was a good week for me,only essential spending.

I have found that it helps to leave my purse at home when I go to work ( I work at Sainsburys ) so that I am not tempted by impulse buys and special offers.

I have just had a lovely phone call from my son to wish me Happy Mother's Day so that has cheered me up.My daughter is in the US so I am missing her a lot,but I expect she will phone later.

The most important lesson I have learned from this challenge is that I can manage perfectly well without ' stuff ' ... all those little items which I previously thought were essential.
