I'm a jolly what now?!
lol only kidding :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Still not sure what I'm going to do about the BF..... do I go out for dinner or not go to prove a point....
Decisions decisions.............
free meal I guess, but is it really worth it?!
Grrrr totally undecided, time for a quick poll, whoever's reading!
Go for dinner, not go for dinner.
You decide!
i'd be inclined to go out to dinner and order the most expensive things on the menu, a lovely bottle of wine and a gorgeous dessert .... at least get something out of it!! you deserve it!Total debt as of May 2007: Tesco [STRIKE]£8499.65[/STRIKE] £7,333.57;

Quick help me - don't know what to do
Just come into work today (my very last day) and have an e-mail saying somebody is coming in and bringing cake to raise money for charity. It's £1 per slice and the money is going to some Trust Fund for her nephews who died of a rare medical condition. I only have £2 on me anyway, which is to pay for the tea money I owe. Do I buy a slice of cake and give only £1 into the tea fund, buy no cake and give all the money to the tea fund, buy 2 slices of cake and pay no money into the tea fund (and hope nobody notices) and hide!!
Really would like to give to this charity and as the £2 was budgeted money it is still a nsd, but what would you others do?When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -
split it - half for charity cake and half into tea fund. does anyone monitor the tea fund? if not, then you're laughing. if so, then explain you've not no more cash but you'll make up for it next week (then raid the backs of sofas at home tonight!!!)
or give it all to charity collection and explain to tea buddies that you'll given all your cash to charity and you'll make it up next week (can you budget for that?)Total debt as of May 2007: Tesco [STRIKE]£8499.65[/STRIKE] £7,333.57;

I say pay the money you owe £2.
Tell everyone (if they ask, then again its none of their .....) that you onlu bought in money for what you owe, and offer to make a donation to the trust fund outside of work?
That way maybe you could give a little mroe extra than £2 to the charity...
However this is made more difficult by the fact that there is cake involved....
if it's your last day.................. maybe someone will buy you a slice anyway!!!!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
.... Add wine to the equation .....
Ask him to give you a Boots token to the value of the meal he would have bought and buy yourself an enormous bottle of conditioner.
LOL all advice was very welcome. He did turn up looking rather sheepish and did apologise for being a total prat.
Explained myself cooly and rationally, which was pretty good for me, and then told him I refused to let it ruin my birthday....
 went for dinner, was very nice, and I didnt cost him too much, since he's got more money problems than me!
I did get a card, in which he managed to spell my name right this year :T
No present because of his money situation
But the apology and total admittance of being completely in the wrong was worth it! :rotfl:
Glad I went out in the end, rather than just steaming over it  indoors on my own. And feel a lot better now so thanks to everyone for letting me bore them with my petty squabbles with the BF
Now for today!
cafcfan, AKA my mum! is coming to see me today, hopefully she brings hair conditioner...... if only you guys could see my hair, you'd understand why I'm quite excited about it! It looks a little something like this
Not too sure what we'll do for the rest of the day. Need to pop upstairs to get my post from the main hallway unfortunately I have to knock on one of my neighbours doors to get in, and I always feel guilty for interrupting them!:o
Hope everyone has a fab day, with or without cake :j

Only a little spend day for me today. Had to post something that someone had bought off me, and then I donated the profit from the sale (all of about 1.50) to the comic relief collection at work.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0

Alright gang
Glad you're night went well CAFCGirl!
Miserable day here got absolutely soaked in very painful hail and sleet and door nearly blew off car when i tried to open it - oh the joys of living here thoughts of immigration are more tempting by the day0 -
Awwwwwwww Ciara hun, sounds like that weather must have hurt!!
A very relaxed day for me today, got my birthday presents which I'll be playing around with this evening! Lots of lovely cards as well from the post upstairs...
Spent money................... but.................. it's actual birthday present money so in my mind it doesnt technically mean I spent money, as its the same as having been given a present, it's just that I choose it? Someone tell me that logic works!!!
This evening will continue on the MSE path. Am going to update my spreadsheet to include new store card debt freedom!Dinner (already in fridge, although Im still stuffed from late lunch!), and evening surfing MSE, listening to Barry White (my birthday present to myself) and a little bit of Comic Relief in there. And got my free munchies to go with it!!
Weekend should be another total no spender. Got two cheques to pay into bank. Working both saturday and sunday. As we all know wont be seeing the BF saturday night, nor probably sunday (anticipate hangover for him, hopes it hurts! lol).
Whats everyone else got planned this weekend?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
