Yep, 19 days with Sundays or 17 days without Sundays. He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

Spent £5 on food to keep me going for the rest of the week!
Sky man coming tomorrow, decided that since I've paid for it, I may as well carry it on. Also managed to get out of paying the "well you moved, so we're charging you" charge by citing that it wasnt highlight in my terms and conditions nor on the website, plus did tell him that I thought Scots had the better accent of Northerners.....that swung it for me!

Right then, I have finally finished reading this thread. It's taken me four days, during which time I haven't managed to visit any other MSE board, but it has been so inspiring, not to mention friendly, that I just had to make it a priority - so well done all of you.
I can't really join in as such, because (a) I've missed half of it, and (b) I hardly ever buy any "stuff" anyway (although if I used conditioner that would certainly count as an essential, like shampoo, deodorant etc.)
I have in fact spent £10.40 on what might be classed as "stuff" since 1st Jan. £3 for a cotton nightshirt (half price in Peacock's sale - possible marriage saver, if you saw what I wear now), £5 in RSPCA charity shop for a brand new still tagged overshirt for going out last weekend (with OH's cousin & wife, so had to make a reasonable impression) and £2.40 for a copy of April's Essentials mag, which I would never have dreamed of except that one of our lovely DFW's was featured in it!
Keep this thread going, all you lovely people, because it is a great antidote to the ostentatious consumerism culture that we seem to be surrounded by.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Yes I feel radiant with loveliness, thanks Bogof Babe! And congratulations on your low-spending lifestyle. I thought I didn't spend much on 'stuff' either, however I've found I have a strong draw to spending on food.
Spent nothing today. I cunningly sent OH to pick up the children from school as there was a fundraising cake sale going on. He spent £14! It would have been better for household finances if I'd gone myself, however it means I stuck to the challenge.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Oh, so I don't have another 6 days after easter - that's okay then (sorry was having a blond moment then :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )
However I think my halo might have slipped  DD came and told me one of the cats had fleas (yuk!) so went straight to the cupboard as I thought I had some of that wonderful stuff that kills them in nanoseconds (well 24 hours), only to find they had all been used  So had to go to the vets to buy some more and it cost me £27.35    , so dont really feel I can say I had a no spend dayHowever, having said that since doing this challenge I do have money in the bank to pay for it (which, before starting this challenge, at this time of the month it most certainly WOULD have gone on the cc) - so thanx CAFCGirl for starting this wonderful challenge
Thanks also to BB for saying such wonderful things - I too feel all cotton woolly now -When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -

I thought that getting rid of those nasty horrible little gritters was essential too - so I don't feel so bad now that it has come from you, Moonflower Sunbeam (my heroine) :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling.
