I've realised that one thing I might need with the 40 days will be hair conditioner. Gonna be searching the internet for how to make some out of my kitchen cupboard, I've heard of oil, and even eggs. Just make sure you rinse with COLD water..........

the scrambled look is so last year!!!

Can't you look round the freebies board? Of course, I'm all for learning how to make your own, but I've got so many freebie sachets in my bathroom that I can't believe you can't get some sent to you to see you through Lent! :)

Yesterday I did a bit of planned-for shopping and I resisted buying a magazine,so I am quite pleased with myself.

Even though Sundays are not included, today, tomorrow and probably Tuesday will be NSD's.

I have my meals planned for the whole week so I don't envisage having to buy any more food,I have enough milk and I make my own bread so I am feeling really confident about the coming week.

Unfortunately,I work in a supermarket,so there are always temptations with special offers, but I shall resist buying anything i don't need.

Next week is going to be harder for me because I am on holiday from work and I am planning a trip to my nearest large shopping center and I usually go in somewhere and buy a coffee and a snack while I am there.
  • Have just been to Mr T's and took back DD's joggers I bought the other week as no good (saving £5), assistant giving away Bag for Life for free (saving 10p), had vocuher for vitamins in my bag (had to spend £6 to get 100 points, but once taken into account deals = £4 saved, so vitamins only £3.04 and OH has these on a daily basis). Went to SS till and had a voucher for free tub of lurpak and a voucher for 30p off tub of lurpak - put it through and need assistance, but instead of putting through as 30p, put it through as 98p - so a saving there of £1.96 and a tub of lurpak to boot - total saving £10.96 :j :j :j and only bought things budgetted for!! so another no spend day for me :D

Welcome to FOS, on joining the challenge and well done to all those who have decided to keep to the letter with sunday spendings.

My packing appears to have hit a dead end :( mainly through lack of boxes!
However darling bf has come to the recue and dropped off £20 so that I can buy some of those folding plastic crates. Normally I would go sniffing round shops etc asking for cardboard but hardly anywhere has any since they all put their retail rubbish out on a friday night (after deliveries) since saturday it gets collected.

I only know all that because I work in retail, I'm not a sad anorak or anything :)

I'll be nipping out in a bit when i can navigate my way around all the boxes littering my flat............
This is the time when you think.. hmmmmmmm maybe i should stay where I am :)

Well, have got through the entire weekend without spending any money. Well, apart from giving DD £2.10 to go swimming with her friend, but as I have recently cancelled our monthly gym membership saving £50 a month, which included unlimited swimming, I think that I can just about justify the occasional swimming session for her!

So, on the rest of the family stuff, we are doing really well - I have an old very frozen up chest freezer in the garage so decided to tackle it - found a fab joint of beef so had roast beef for dinner, also found some frozen raspberries, plus found a box of meringues and a tin of evaporated milk in the back of the cupboard, so had yummy pudding as wel. Not a penny spent!!

Loving this challenge and I think it is actually getting easier as the days go by!!

Hope you are all doing well too x

Didnt spend anything today so have got through the whole weekend - phew.

Tomorrow & Tuesday I have to go to London and this usually means expensive sandwiches, cappucinos, pizza, wine.... Obviously I won't be doing that this week UNLESS I can get hold of one particular friend who I haven't seen for ages. If she's around, I will buy her a coffee and consider it money well spent as she's a good friend and I don't see her often.

    Managed it!!
A no spend day:j despite being out with BF to factory shops.
I didn't buy - towels (& they were such a bargain) , new mugs or curtains. Nearly came unstuck when we went to the new Ilva store they had a set of chairs I really liked in their clearance sale but I walked away.
The item that almost got me was a toilet brush holder believe it or not - a china one at only £1.75. I was determined to go back for it, but after BF tried to buy a bed which started out at £175 but ended up at £987 after you bought the matress and the slats to keep the mattress in place we had had enough & just came home!

Have to go to a meeting at our main office tomorrow & it is usual to lunch afterwards, so I will take sandwiches from home and risk appeaaring a bit ditzy about my diary.

Keep up the good work everyone......... Looking forward to buying anything at Easter.
