Hi,
Don't know if you've heard of AutoAid but it's £34 for all your vehicles.
I don't think that's Europe but it might be a cheaper option for people that don't drive abroad.
Note that AutoAid is a pay & claim policy but they do send cheques very promptly.0 -
RAC wanted £92 renewal. Rang them up to say I didn't want to pay that but I would pay the on-line price £73.60. They said that was for new members but they came back with a 25% magazine discount taking the price down to £69. Nice result :T0

Yes my hubby took out this offer, an added bonus is if you take the offer out via telephone is you get an extra 250 Tesco clubcard points also.0 -
This may be a stupid question, but as AA and RAC give substantial online reductions for new applications on their web site, what is to stop someone from alternating "new" membership between the two every alternate year?
I'd think they would both be unhappy about someone doing this, but there doesn't seem to be any rules about new customers not being accepted as "new" after deserting for only a year.
Is anyone actually doing this?0 -
If you happen to drive a Toyota then one option is to join Club Toyota. This costs £55 per year and gives you RAC comprehensive Option 4 cover throughout Europe! The only difference from regular RAC cover is that it is the car, rather than the driver, which is covered. There is however a 50% discount for any non Toyota cars you want to cover in addition.
Although, if you drive a Toyota you probably have no need for breakdown cover anyway...

You can cancel it but you wont get any money back
From the terms and conditions
Your Right to Cancel

booklet, whichever happens later.
2. If you have not made a claim within the first 14 days we will refund the cost of your membership.
3. If you use the service within the first 14 days and decide to cancel, you will not be eligible for any refund.
4. If you cancel the membership after 14 days, no refund or credit will be applied.
5. If you do not pay for your membership promptly, we will cancel your membership."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

As optimist says you wont get any money back but you may be able to get them to suspend their remaining 10 months cover to start again when the free cover runs out.
we have done this in the past, although in these moneygrabbing times they may have stopped this, nothing to lose though?0 -
