  • A few years ago (I’m not sure how many, at least 5) my boyfriend took a loan out withhis bank to buy a new car. He said he didn't want PPI insurance which theyacknowledge. When he want back in to complete the paperwork and sign, henoticed PPI had been included. The person dealing with it, said he couldn'tcancel the loan so he would have to take out another loan without PPI!

So he had a loan to buy his car that had PPI on, then had to take out asecond loan, without PPI to pay the first loan off straight away.

Can PPI be claimed, or not as it was paid off straight away?

It was confusing at the time!
  • We had a loan with Northern Rock BUT we applied online?! is it worth looking into?! I can't find any paperwork and it was about 6 years ago...I have heard people saying because we did it online there's not really a chance??! Any HELP? and where would I start finding out?! thanks.

    Can anyone offer advice?
    Wrong template.
You need to write a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter which costs £10 per lender.

Full redress would be your ppi repaid plus 8% interest. Since you paid nothing, you will get...nothing.

"Non-advised" sales cannot be mis-sold since no one actually sold you payment protection. However, it's sometimes possible to complain that the there was a pre-ticked box for PPI. Note that this possibility was removed post Summer 2007.
  • Was wondering if anyone can help me out here. Is RPP similar to PPI?

    Thanks :)

I've seen posts, and the FAQ, regarding claims for PPI mis-sold by brokers, but I can't quite determine if it is the same situation for third party sellers.

I took a finance option with a double glazing company, selling to me in my home, late at night. I was led to believe that PPI was a condition of the loan. Should my complaint be directed towards the double glazing company, rather than the lender?

    Thanks

Yes, only the seller can mis-sell!
  • Hi,I took out car finance with Carland back in 2002 and I had ppi insurance on it and the finance ran until 2006.
Carland have now closed so I contacted the company that brought them which is concept automotive and despite trying to get my money back without any joy they have just sent me a letter saying that Carlabd was not regulated until 2005 by the Fsa so they are saying that they cannot help me. If anyone has any advise that would be great thanks
