  • hi everyone I am new on here today I just wanted to know if anyone had any advice, I claimed for refund on ppi with one of Martins letters off this site and have since heard back saying that they are willing to pay me £7000.00 it seemed so easy do you think that if I appeal for more through the financial obs that I may get more or is that being terribly greedy?? I have just lost my job and am looking to save every penny , I paid £45 per month for 12 years on a credit card. I am sure that I am being greedy but they seem so hasty to almost 'keep me quiet' I wondered if it were worth trying for more! thanks for any replies nice ones please!.

Sounds like they upheld your complaint. If they did, and it wasn't a goodwill offer, you won't get any more by going to the FOS.

  • Thanks Taff but they did say it was a 'goodwill offer' does that make a difference?

Credit card redress is different to loan redress in that they will only pay you 8% if your card would have been in credit at any time if you hadn't paid PPI.
It looks like they have refunded all your premiums, and a small portion of interest.

My Husband took his first mortgage out in 1988 and he pays a fixed amount (still) for £25 approx. Could this be PPI? How will he know the difference between PPI and it just being a general insurance?

Contact the Mortgage company and ask, or the Insurance company this is paid too, they should be able to tell him.
If the Mortgage is finished, this could be a life insurance.

    [Hi
I used a claims company to start my claim but they were unsuccessful as Barclaycard said my claim had no grounds as I had ticked a box to say I wanted PPI . A few months late I decided to contact Barclaycard and the FOS to reinvestigate my claim . In June this years I finally got my refund but now the claims company want their 25 % , where do I stand? the FOS reckons I do not have to pay this money , can anyone help me further

I had a telephone conversation with them when Bcard refused my claim and they agreed with Bcard so they agreed my calim had ended , it was only when I used this site that I went to FOS ,does this mean I have to pay as they did nothing !
  • Hi. Apologies if this is the wrong way to post a question, could not find how to do this on this site. My partner took a car loan from Welcome Finance a few years ago ( he cannot remember the exact year) this car loan progressed to a 15k personal loan. Unfortunately he does not have any paperwork at all. So I'm wondering where on earth we start with a PPI claim. He is sure he had it we have no idea where to start with this. Any help very much appreciated
