  • SAE! oops!:embarasse Sorry thought it was a typo :)

That's great, thankyou guys...i'll let you know how it goes.
  • Barclaycard acknowledged my letter (template from here) on the 17th of December but I've not heard back from them since. Whats my next move?
Well I've still not heard from them. .Is its Ombudsman time?
Interestingly enough I've settled my a/c with Barclaycard no but on my last statement I note there is no PPI charge only the interest.
So I've still not heard from Barclaycard. What do you recommend I do now?

Get back in touch and ask them what's going on?
You only have a few weeks before your 6 months is up to go to the ombudsman

  • Well that was hard work. I rang Bcard on the advertised number 0844 8119111and was told to ring 0500 500700 who told me they dealt with PPI policies but not claims for mis-sold policies and to ring 0845 7555555.

They (0845 7555555) told me they were personal banking and couldn't deal with anything to do with mis-sold PPI but could check on the status of my claim, but the system was down. I told him my first letter to BCard was on the 12/11/2012 and he said something wrong then as most mis-sold claims are settled within 2 months but to ring back in an hour and they can check on the progress of my claim.

So I decided to ring back on 0844 8119111 and I explained to the Lady that the numbers I'd been given were incorrect and could she advise me on the status of my claim. She seemed to think there was no claim registered on my account but would log a complaint about my PPI being mis-sold and someone would write to me within the next 5 days.

All seems very odd as they wrote and acknowledged my letter a few months back but now they say there is nothing showing up on my account?

What generally happens once they recieve your claim? Do they deny it, or simply offer you a settlement, or does it get a lot more involved than that?

They don't deny it existed unless they never received it.
They have 8 weeks to respond fully and finally.
You've had an acknowledgement, you can't complain again-you need to find out the status of your original complaint.
At the top of your acknowledgement letter there will have been a complaint reference number, it's this you must quote when communicating with the bank.

I really don't know why you've left it so long, other forum users told you to do this back in March.

Remember that you only have six months to refer your complaint to FOS.
  • Hi im new to this forum (dont do blogs and forums) so I am really hoping i am posting in the right place.

I have a question with regards to PPi reclaim on Nationwide credit card and advise would be gratefully received.

My husband has been self-employed for over 22 years. He has had his Nationwide CC since 2000 and paid PPI on it all this time (yes the PPI has been cancelled). They have come back and made an offer of £7,500 this is from 2004 to date. They claim that they cant refund from the year 2000 to 2004 as he was covered over this time.. Is this correct has anyone else heard of this as i haven't. Also how do we know that their offer is correct.

really hoping some one replies and that i see the reply as this is all so foreign to me.

    many thanks in advance

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has had or is having a similar ppi claim experience as me. Long story short I applied to Capital One back in Nov 12 to reclaim ppi I believed I never agreed to. After 14 weeks I finally got a final response from them stating they would not uphold my claim. I took my claim to the fos and have had a letter back from them declaring that they believe cap 1 should uphold my claim. Currently the fos have written to cap 1 and are awaiting a response from them. Unless Cap 1 can provide any further info or decide to uphold my claim the fos will rule in my favour. So my question is - has anyone experienced this already and were they successful in re claiming their ppi ?

It's important to realise that you are still in the early stages of the FOS referral process. FOS have currently given Cap One the opportunity to offer redress to you, but the Bank can choose to appeal this decision.
It's impossible to predict what will happen, but expect this to not be concluded for around eighteen months I'm afraid.
  • Just had Capital one contact me today with a massive refund for PPI for £20.80 plus %8 woop. Best invest that mass amount lol. 1st result in the PPI war hopefully the next result will be a tad more hehe. Only had the card 1year tho xx
