Anyone out there sucessfully claimed from lloyds tsb whilst on a Dmp and had a cheque from them rather than debt offset? And yes one of the debts is with them.....0

Hi all,
I've been looking on the internet for answers and came up with nothing.
My partner received a PPI payment a year ago from the claims advisory group whereby she won £900 from a bank loan. Two weeks ago she had a phone call from them saying that she now owes them £300 for it. As far as she was aware they didn't say that at that time, I understand these companies take a share of the winnings, but asking for it a year on is totally out of order in my opinion.
My question is, is there a legal time frame in which they have to ask for payment, or can they ask for it ten years down the line? Consequently she can't pay it and is quite upset by it as she doesn't have a lot of money as it is.
Would appreciate any kind of response to this query.0 -

There is also no point employing a Claims Management Company, since you'd still have to pay their fees even though your redress went to the OR.

If a contract was signed then the fee is payable, did they say why it took so long for them to ask for the fee? 12 months does seem a long time.
Ask them for a payment plan to repay this at an amount that is affordable to your partner.0 -

Has anyone gone to the financial ombudsman after their bank has 'closed' their investigation only to be told by the Ombudsman that you've waited too long to follow up and they need reason why before they can progress?

I haven't being following these forums in regard to PPi claims so this questions may have been raised already.
I have started my own PPI claims last week with calls to the banks and now a pile of forms to fill in.
Today though, I received a call from a PPI claim company who stated that even though I may be saving the costs that PPI handlers charge (even though this company apparently make their money from the interest/damages part of the claim so the claim will provide nearly 100% of the amount I should be owed) I would, in fact, be losing more money handling it myself? They stated that I would not be aware of the full amount that I could claim and will be fobbed off with only a third by the banks when they make a settlement offer. On the other hand if this company handle it they will secure the full 100%.
This is disconcerting and confusing news. Has Martin Lewis stated that complaining directly will ensure 100% or will I have to do some mathematical miracle to know when I have reached 100% because as a layperson I wouldn't have the faintest?0 -
As far as I know it was originally GE capital that underwrote these store cards. I have been in touch with GE and they have put my claim to Santander.0

You have 6 months from receiving the bank's full & final response to refer to the FOS (and they should have made you aware of this in the response). If you don't do this then you lose your right to refer. The FOS will need to know the reason why you didn't refer in that 6 month window in order to ascertain whether it would be valid to re-open the complaint - be aware that they will only accept a very narrow range of reasons, so if you have missed this 6 month window it's unlikely they will take the complaint on.I am an IFA. Ignore the claims company - they're lying. They'll get no more than you cold get by complaining yourself. It's just one of the stories they tell to try and get you to use them.I am an IFA. Hi- I have a question about a ppi company. In May last year we filled in a claim form with one of these companies. We received no acknowledgement from them or any correspondence from them at all. This April we received a bill from them for a large amount, basically a year later. Although we received a refund, its impossible to tell whether its down to our own efforts or through theirs. So to sum up, we were never told in writing until now if the claim had been successful or if they were handling it, or should they be successful what the fees would be. Its very strange receiving this a year later. Do they have any legal justification for this claim?
What should I do?
