PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hi, just wondering how far back you can claim as I've just found a PPI certificate going back to 1996?????0
-
There is no time limit. As long as you can prove you paid PPI and have a valid complaint reason, you can complain from as far back as you want.
I'm aware of somebody who was able to claim for a loan from 1985. A bit of a hoarder, he never threw anything out, which luckily for him included his old bank statements.Competition wins:
2010 - approx £450. 2011 - approx £800. 2012 - approx £300. 2013 - nothing so far!0 -

Hi there MSE folk,
i have a quick question not sure if anyone can help but i thought id ask on the off chance.
I left my husband over 5years ago so i had to get a new bank account and was offered a credit card when i was offered this card i was asked if i would like to take out the payment insurance to witch i said no, now unfortunately i ran up a big bill to witch i could'nt pay so it was sent to a debt collection agency and it was only then that i noticed that i was paying payment protection (my question is) would i still be eligible to claim for the PPI? Also i do not have any of the credit card statments would this be a problem?
thank you for reading this

Hi There,
I was sent a letter from Natwest in December 2012 on regards to the two loans I took out with them, stating I could have been mis-sold my PPI which I took out a couple years ago and paid off. I know for a fact I was mis-sold my PPI policy.
So I need some advice do I complete the questionnaire or do I just go for the template questionnaire on this website.
Here is Natwest questions:
1. If you think you were not eligible for the PPI policy or significant exclusions were not explained to you at the point of sale, please give full details below including why you believe that you were not eligible for this PPI policy.
2. If you did not understand that the PPI policy was optional, if you did not choose to take out a PPI policy with your loan or if you felt that we pressured you to take the policy. In addition, your policy should have been sold on a non advised basis. If you feel you received a personal recommendation to take out a policy, please give full details.
3. If you feel that we did not explain how your PPI policy was paid for, or if the cost of the policy was not explained to you, please give full details below.
4. If you believe that we did not clearly explain to you at the point of sale that only a partial rebate was payable if you cancelled early but after 30 days, please give full details below.
Can someone in box me on the best way to answer these questions , I will be every so grateful?
Kind Regards

First question - you don't claim, you complain, and there's nothing stopping you from doing this.
Second question - then you won't know how much PPI you piad, but if your complaint is upheld, it will be what you paid, plus 8% interest.
Also, any redress will first go against amounts written off or agaisnt the debt if the debt collection agency is a part of the company the original debt was with.
Don't use a CMC or you could end up owing them money and not actually receiving any.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Hi All,
I had a barclaycard in/from 1998 and have been hunting around for details of the account for quite a while now. I have finally found a barclaycard platinum card which expired on 11/11. I am pretty sure I remember seeing something about PPI being charged to me on the card but I cannot find any paperwork. The only information I have is the card. Can anybody advise me if a claim can be made and how to go about doing it please.0
