That's interesting to know, as I had received a phonecall last week from a company called Help Your Claim, who knew about my bank loan with Lloyds TSB, and they informed me that I was entitled to £1400 plus interest of 9%, and that I would be given every penny back, even though I owe them money ....

A claims co will tell you anything to get you to go with them, they will take their % plus Vat even if Lloyds take any or all redress towards the debt that you owe them, you will be worse off at the end of a claim if you win, as, if the debt gets repaid to Lloyds, you will end up with a bill for the claims co.

If this company is stating that you will get all of any redress while you owe the bank money, they are telling lies.

Depending on what you owe Lloyds, it is up to Lloyds if the redress goes to you or not and the claims co cannot know this.

Read this and understand that employing this Claims Company could result in you receiving nothing back from the bank and still owing the company their commission.

So...was this a joint account the money was being paid out of?

Hi taff, no sadly it is my own account. It was easier for my partner to have the wages paid into mine at the time. He still does but we have never got round to putting his name on the account.

I would use it as reason why i didn't need it. Having two wages come into one account, it's another income....

Redress is the PPI paid, the associated interest [if it's a loan] or the interest on the account if it were in credit due to the extra PPI payments [if it's a credit card] plus 8% interest.

There is nothing else. The 8% IS your compensation
