PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hi I hope someone can give me a bit of advice. RBS are unable to uphold my claim.
This was a credit card with Ulster bank taken out in May 2002 with ppi attached. I cancelled the ppi October 2004 Card was closed March 2007.
As you cancelled it, you have a better case for complaining. Send it to the FOS.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
So i'm wondering if its possible for them to pull out? contact the company and say they are withdrawing the claim, and i can do it for them?
Remember that complaints about mortgage PPI are the least upheld.0 -
Hi Amersall thanks for the advice, they are saying if I have any additional evidence that would alter their decision. Not sure what more I can tell them.0

Hi everyone... first time, so be nice!
I'm ringing around banks to see if my accounts had PPI. So far, they are all saying "no". Should I believe them??

This might prove an expensive exercise, but it would no doubt reassure you that the Banks were not seeking to delude you.0 -

This was a credit card with Ulster bank taken out in May 2002 with ppi attached. I cancelled the ppi October 2004 Card was closed March 2007. They are telling me that all their PPI are provided on a non-advised basis. They are saying that their staff are trained to ensure that their customers are aware that the credit card and PPI are separate products. I also had alternative cover in place and generous package from employer. Is this the end of the line for me.
1st claim I've tried, a bit wary about trying others now. I was sure I took this card out in Bank. I stopped PPI when I realized that I had it, and was struggling with monthly payments Of nearly £300.:
Just because the bank had " rules" in place regarding PPI selling and the staff were "trained" does not mean you were not duped.
Send the claim to FOS, (try the bank first and see what they say) reiterate you had no need of this PPI, you cancelled it and let them know the bank said
" there was not a mis sell with this PPI as our staff are fully trained in the procedure"
put that if the staff were " fully trained" how did you get to have the PPI when you had no need of it as you had a sick package etc and could have repaid the card in any eventuality.
Please stick to this thread then you have all the answers in one place.0 -
Hi I am new to this so not sure how to go about it. I am thinking of claiming back PPI but not sure who to send my claim form to. I took out a credit card from Tesco's back in 2003 and took PPI at the time. I have changed my card to Capital One and am still paying the PPI. Should I send my form to Tesco's or Capital One?0

Hi I am undertaking a 'sweep' of all possible mis-sold PPI that I may have had. I did my 2 main ones in 2011 but now, spreading my mind further, find that CCP is a possible for ID Theft protection, that HSBC Mortgage Protection sounds like deffo mis-sold, a Virgin CC that I almost forgot about is v likely mis-sold PPI, that Barclaycard are the least best to deal with by phone. Overall HSBC were the best on the phone, whereas I though MP products were hard to claim against. Laura Ashley old PPI, they said no, I thought I had paid it!?!
It is worth the work, I am expecting to receive about £2k from this exercise.0 -
Hi all,
Just received a letter this morning from Halifax denying that our PPI on mortgage was mis-sold but my reasons fall into the categories mentioned in this article. They seem very definite in their letter.
Has anyone else had dealings with Halifax? Is it worth me pursuing? Bearing in mind today is the due date for my first baby, I feel really deflated
Thanks in advance for any advice. xx0
