PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hey everyone,
I wonder if you can help me on this..
I had PPI on a loan about 13 years ago. The Bank Manager who set the loan up for me said I had to have it, which is fine, I know that I can look to make a claim as he didn't give me the option of not having it.
However, there is a dilemma, I was off sick from work & got the loan paid 1 month out of the 2yrs that the loan was for, so it was used... Would I still have cause to make a claim?
Yes, it was used but yes it was totally underhand how it was ''sold'' to me.0 -
Are they now playing ball and not mis-informing people.
Maybe I am a bit naive but I would hope they are not telling people porkies?
Many thanks
They're telling you what they can with the systems they have available.
If you want to make sure, you spend £10 and send a SAR but this will only give you what they haven't destroyed.
It's your choice.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

However, your complaint reason is a weak hearsay allegation which you cannot prove. In addition, claiming on the insurance means that you cannot now complain that you didn't need it.0 -
Hey
Probably a lone voice here but im sick and tired of all this PPI stuff now. Cant we close it and allow the banks to start trying to recover???
In particular I just find it unbelievable that we are encouraging people who have actually used the PPI to still claim for miss selling, while others who never even took it have successfully claimed!!!!!!
And im sick of the constant barrage of people telling me im owed thousands. I had a brain, checked my paperswork and checked my payments so this never happened to me.
We seem to be a nation of idiots who want to sue and can sue for our own stupidity.....the lunatics are truly taking over......

well, according to one of your other posts, you didn't apply this level of detail to every contract you've entered into...so I'm sure you can find it in yourself to apply that knowledge to all the people who were missold PPI.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
I see the dreadful Esther Rantzen, as well as grabbing more money by promoting ambulance chasers, is now also endorsing a PPI claims company (on afternoon TV) please don't follow her advice ... DIY.0

Lots of old has-been "celebrities" appear in questionable adverts on Daytime TV. It's a pity they seem more interested in the fee than the ethics.
As you say, no one should be using a claims company.0 -
Yes, it's not that they're short of a bob or two ... I haven't a pot to p*@& in but wouldn't do something like that ... ok I am a Saint !0

I'm claiming against Capital One on behalf of my deceased brother in law. There is no sign of any policy in his otherwise meticulous papers, but the form he signed said that the policy would be sent to him on receipt of his application. This was in 2003. I have been told that Capital One failed to send out policies at one stage during 2003/4. Does anybody know if this was true?
We first wrote asking Cap One for a copy of policy in July last year, but all six requests have been ignored. Our claim has now gone to FOS, but any light on this Policy question would be helpful.
Many thanks from a first timer on here!0
