PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hi all
Just looking for some advice iv sent claim forms into halifax claiming for multiple loans i have previously had with them. I totalled up the amount of ppi i have paid with them and its up to £3983.00. They have now offered me two seperate payments for the seperate loans of £274 plus £90 soemthing pounds? obviously this is a considerable amount less than what i have been expecting. Having spoke to them again today they claim that they are putting me back in the financial situaion i would have been in had i not had the insurance? which is completely wrong! im thinking to now take it to the ombudsman is that correct?
has anyone else experienced the ppi companies trying to fob them off with smaller refunds???? advice would be appreciated?
Have you defaults, arrears or had amounts written off?
Whilst some loans are front loaded and these are the ones with the larger payouts, those that are monthly premium tend to be much smaller when the loan is still in force as you havent made the monthly premiums in full yet. So, you cant get a refund on something you havent paid yet. Just what you have paid.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi all
i wonder if someone could give me some quick answer advise pls. I paid ppi via a DFS loan to trinity finance that started back in 99. This was over 4 years. I have the original agreement. Can i make a claim for this as it was over 6 years ago. The ppi was marked as option but couldnt be cancelled and just written into the agreement without the option being given to us.
Many thanks for your time0 -
Hi
I'm new to the forum I've read through lots of pages however I'm still not sure how to start the process. Over the years my husband and I have had lots of loans most of which have been settled and we shredded the paperwork. This has put me off trying to claim as I'm not really sure how to start the process. Yesterday I registered with the three different credit agencies and got details of the ones less than 6 years old from there. I've also looked at the SAR letter template. Is this the best way for me to track down the information or is there an alternative way when I'm not 100% sure of all the companies names to find out this information? Also can I claim for those that are over 6 years old? I really appreciate any help.

You can try but it was pre-regulation for that company so they could reject straightaway.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

You need valid reasons for missale.
You need the account number the PPI was applied to.
You need either a copy of the questionnaire filled in, or a phone call to make a complaint.
Read this thoroughly [but don't bother requesting T&Cs on closed aco!!!!s], then spend some time reading the forum, it will help.

A Sar would be no good as you have no account numbers and it is likely that there will be no info available for these, if you were mis sold PPI and they are upheld then the date is irrelevant, if they are older loans or cards but were closed within the past 6 years you may have a chance, if they are older than this and no info is available then there is nothing you can do.
The reasons you were mis sold go towards a win, make sure they are valid reasons, also make sure you had PPI in the first instance.0 -

Hi all. Hope someone can give me some advice. PPI first appeared on my credit card statements in 2000 but as it's so long ago I can't remember anything about it - whether I asked for it or it was just added or was sold it or not. Anyway, after receiving my very first annual PPI review form from LTSB and noticing that according to their records I was working part-time (something I haven't been since pre 1997) I thought that if they had that wrong then I might have been mis-sold. Also, from review could see that anything the PPI covered was easily covered by my employer (and still is)
So rang them up at end of September and registered the complaint. Had a phone call a week later checking on details then nothing. Just before Christmas realised that I'd heard nothing so rang again. Told they'd not upheld my claim and posted a letter mid-October (which I've never received). Said they'd send another copy to me. I still haven't seen anything ...
So ... should I wait and put it down to the Christmas / New Year post delays? Should I ring them again? I'm guessing I can't move forward until I know why they've rejected my claim
I've been at the same address for the last 35 years .. so it's not like I've moved or anything .....0 -
