Hi,
We were missold PPI, when sending off documents to the bank it came to our attention that we had signed the agreement but the person that sold it to us never signed or dated it, will this affect our claim, does this make our agreement void or does this put the bank further in the wrong?
we sent these forms off along side two others which were signed, we have since received money back, but the ones mentioned above were now sent 8 weeks ago with no word back from the bank.0 -
1) Using a Claims management company (CMC) may seem like a hassle free way to claiming back your PPI, however using a CMC can also decrease your chances of a successful case. Filling in a Financial Ombudsman services questionnaire and being as truthful as possible and being specific about the sale gives a much greater chance. By using a CMC they will throw a load of untruthful complaint points on there letters that are generic which leads the PPI complaint not to be creditable to the bank. Not only that the fees can be high. It's doesn't take long to fill a questionnaire out and you get back the full refund if your claim is susseful
2) If you receive a phone call about your complaint always speak to them, they don't call to catch you out they call to gather information that could potentially strengthen your complaint. Again by remaining truthful and answering all the questions honestly you may find it increases your chances. By not speaking to them you may find you will receive a letter in the post shortly after saying "your claim is unsuccessful, however if you have any more info you can appeal" by speaking to them you could save time and hassle as they will gatherer relivant information from you over the phone for them to make an informed descion.
3) Don't copy and paste complaints that you have found online again this is generic stuff and it will appear that your complaint is not creditable to the bank. Being specific and honest is the key.0 -

iv recently received ppi money from 4 different banks for loans i took out with missold ppi included.the only one i had trouble with was nram.as i had to enter into an iva 7yrs ago they said they would pay the ppi money into that.the iva was implemented in full and final sattlement 3 yrs ago,so there is nowhere to pay it in to.i spoke with the iva management company and they confirmed any money due should be paid to me.a guy at nram has decided off his own bat to keep the money against all legal rights of the iva procedure.in fact he said he would rather give it to anyone other than me.its now with the ombudsman, but what a way to deal with people.im not even sure wherethe money will go to if i dont get it.1 yr and 3 months later he hasnt even sent a reply to the ombudsman.i was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and are wondering who has actually got their money now.0

Hi
I've had lots of texts and calls about claiming PPI but I just ignore them as it's something I've not really been bothered about before. After reading a few of the posts on here, I've actually starting thinking that maybe I should look into whether I have anything to claim.
I've had two mortgages, one of which had something called "property insurance" and the other which had "protection plus insurance". Both of these mortgage are now paid off.
I've had a loan from my bank but have no idea if there was any insurance on it and unfortunately I no longer have any paperwork as I paid the loan off 3 years ago.
I also have a credit card from MBNA which I know I have paid card protection on.
How do I find out whether I'm entitled to claim anything on any of these??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!0 -
Hi! I tried claiming back my PPI from barclaycard credit card in September but was rejected. I remember taking PPI for the credit card as it was implied at the time that it was extra-assurance that the credit APR I was on (8.8% lifetime) would stay that way. As with other loans or credit cards at the time, I did the same taking out several other insurances such as card guard which added significant amounts to my outstanding balance. I took the PPI for the wrong reasons other than what it was meant for. Anyway, barclaycard sent me a letter of rejection, stating that their terms and conditions were completely laid out at onset etc.. therefore rejected giving me the refund.
I am unsure if I could still try my luck with the Ombudsman, but I am going to try anyway as strongly recommended by Martin. I reviewed my PPI consumer questionnaire (which I also submitted to barclaycard) and realised I should edit section E where you write your reasons for claiming PPI back, changed some wording etc.. to increase my chances. Is this allowed at all? or should I submit the one I originally sent to barclaycard?
Thanks in advance for your help!0 -

I am not fully up to date with IVA but I believe you get some sort of paperwork when the IVA is paid off, did you get this and did you send it to NRAM?, also, if the full debt was not repaid to NRAM and it was partially settled due to the IVA, then again I believe NRAM could take the redress back, if this happened then that is where the redress is.0 -

If Barclays did not give you a final decision then write back to them and state your case again with anything that you omitted from the original claim, if it was a final letter then take it to FOS.0
