PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

I tried to do this a few years ago with a few different accounts. Once I'd received responses from the lenders, I found it near impossible to work out if I had ever had PPI in the first place.
Another issue I had was that for some of the accounts they said they were unable to find my original account information (as I hadn't provided enough information).
I'm seriously contemplating another go, but have around 3 accounts I don't have account numbers or references for. I did a bit of moving around at the time, so could have been 4 different addresses and I'm looking for any advice on the best way to proceed.
I also thought I'd seen an article on here in the past saying there were numbers you could call for the lenders to see if you had PPI (I'd probably find it easier to talk to someone if possible...).
Any help gratefully appreciated!!0 -
Hi, i am really busy with things and cant be bothered to claim myself. Can you recommend a company that we can use with confidence?
Your choice is:
1 - fill out FOS questionnaire and post it to the lender/seller. You keep all the redress.
or
2 - fill out FOS questionnaire or claims company version (asking same questions but with different branding) and post it to the claims company who will take x% plus VAT at 20% of your redress.
Which do you think is quicker and better?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Hi , have claimed a few PPI's recently with success and ease but have one that is proving a problem. Have a store card with Homebase that i have had for 5 yrs now which i have PPi on and i also dont remember requesting this. I have been self employed for 10 yrs and now Homebase are arguing mycase saying that the cover does apply to me even though i am self employed. Their arguement was that if i were to go bankrupt I wouldnt have to pay them !!!!!!! But surely I am covered by this already if i go bankrupt whether i have the cover or not, so are they taking rubbish to avoid paying. Pls help!!!!!!!!!!0

Hi all, not sure if I'm doing this right as I'm new to this so please bare with me,
I have PPI on my credit card which I wasn't aware off untill I had a good look at my bill, so I made a complaint to Lioyds TSB as I feel I don't need this policy, they have written back to me stating, I was aware of the policy and I was given verbal advice and booklets to make a informed choice about PPI,
I have had PPI on my credit card since 2002, I am in fulltime employment and I have been with the same company since 1987, we have a good sickness policy that hasn't changed since my employment started, so if I'm ill and need to be absent from work my employer will pay me 6 months at full pay and a further 6 months at half pay, therfore I feel I don't and didn't need PPI on my credit card.
do you think it would be worth me refering my complaint to the FOS as I feel I have been sold a policy that I would not beable to claim on, I have had personal loan with TSB and have never taken PPI out because I feel it would have no benefit to me with my companies sickness policy.0 -
Letter in the post off capital one, an offer of £1500, wasn't expecting that, my current card has no ppi, there paying out on an old card ( late 90s) :j
Can I check when you sent off your initial complaint? We sent ours on 18 July and the only letter we have received to date (which took several days to arrive) said they would need longer than the 8 weeks and that we could expect further correspondence around 24 Oct!
Just curious to know how long they took to complete their investigation.
Thanks0 -

Can anyone tell me if it possible to claim PPI on a business loan.
Sole trader - got into difficulties, everytime the bank 'rescheduled' the loan or overdraft further 'insurance' was charged; at one point paying 3 different protection insurances every month.
Don't ever remember being given paperwork on how to claim or being given the opportunity to not have it.
Is a claim still possible when it was for a business? This was Natwest and 15 years ago. We do still have some paperwork on loans etc and all bank statements showing how much was taken.0 -
