Hello all, after all the emails i have recieved about ppi reclaiming i decided to look into my old loans, i found paperwork for a loan and ppi with first plus in 2004. I have filled in a complaint form and was told they would look into it. They forwarded the complaint to Capital one who today sent me paper work saying they have looked into my complaint and that i discussed ppi with a representative at the time on the phone and confirmed i wanted this cover, which was not the case as i only agreed because of believing that i would not get the loan without it. They also said that although first plus sent them the complaint, first plus did not send them the reason for my complaint, anyway they have said this is there final response and if not happy then to contact the F.O.S is this what i should do? is this my next step and will i have a case? thanks for your time.

You havent given any reasons for complaint. We cant comment on whether you have a case or not unless you tell us. So, what were you actually complaining about?

I believe we were mis sold ppi as we didnt need the protection or want it but they put it across that it was part of the criteria of them agreeing the loan to us, Also how can capital one say weren't mis sold if they also have not heard our reason? as they say First plus never forwarded our reason for complaint? thanks

What term was the loan over and how long did the PPI cover you for?.
  • Hi , have claimed a few PPI's recently with success and ease but have one that is proving a problem. Have a store card with Homebase that i have had for 5 yrs now which i have PPi on and i also dont remember requesting this. I have been self employed for 10 yrs and now Homebase are arguing mycase saying that the cover does apply to me even though i am self employed. Their arguement was that if i were to go bankrupt I wouldnt have to pay them !!!!!!! But surely I am covered by this already if i go bankrupt whether i have the cover or not, so are they taking rubbish to avoid paying. Pls help!!!!!!!!!!

Get back in touch with them and reject the reason they gave, let them know you had no need of this cover if you could have paid the card back in any eventuality.

I got small business loan insurance back from HSBC for loans in the 90s, admittedly only £300 odd, they were only small loans,
Are they front loaded/single premium ppi?

Hi Nee i can't see a business loan being any different (much) from a personal loan, i would say in the 90's it would have been front loaded, I had LTSB pay out two from 95 as well so i would'nt say it was too long ago but you might need documentation, good luck.:)
  • Having spent a week reading this thread, I was finally motivated to go and have a look at one of my many files. I couldn`t believe it. I have found the original details for loans with RBS from 2006 and 2009, they both refer to a specific amount for re-financing earlier loans. I have now downloaded the questionnaire, and will spend the weekend looking through my older files as I clearly remember the interviiew for my first loan in 2002, and being told that I wouldn`t get my money without taking out ppi. As I was employed as a teacher at the time, I think I have a strong case for missold ppi, and have never been out of debt since.
I have to thank you all for your inspiration and advice, without you, I would not have reached this point.
I will keep you updated with my progress :)

  • Hi,
I an new here to this forum and I live in UK and working with theppiclaims.I am here to learn and express my views with other people. The discussion here about ppi claim is really valuable and beneficial for the people.
  • I was contacted by Yourreclaim.co.uk via a cold call from a firm called Nationwide Legal Services. They want to pursue a claim on my behalf in respect of my paid off repayment mortgage on which I had no insurances of any sort. They claim that the insurance premiums may have been in the interest and not disclosed to me. I have no idea what I am doing and other than confirming that they are "no win no fee" and that acceptance of the application pack does not constitute a contract I am seriously wondering whether there is any point in pursuing this at all. Does anybody have experience of these companies and is it really possible that I was paying PPI premiums in my interest without knowing about it ? How would I have claimed had I needed to?
