    Hi more info

This loan was took out in 2004 and settled in 2005.
Does anyone know if he complains to Endeavour or HFC bank.
Quite confused on this one. I've read all the threads on Endeavour but still not sure who to contact first to get the ball rolling.

    Many Thanks
You need to contact FOS and ask what you can do, the FSCS compensate for these but your loan was before the date the FSCS can give compensation ( 14th Jan 05) for and Endeavour no longer exist, having said that, you could contact HFC and see what they say, don't build your hopes up though as they can dis miss this as they did not sell you the loan and PPI.

Thanks. I have sent off the forms to Cap One and Barclays and will go into my local Natwest to see about the PPI on the loan.

How long do I give Cap One and Barclays to respond? Is it 12 weeks?

They have approx 2 weeks to acknowledge your complaint and a further 6 weeks to issue a final response, this could take longer but call them if you hear nothing within 3 weeks.

Hi, I went bankrupt about two and half years ago, and now I have been receiving phone calls from ppi companies advising me that I would be able to claim as I was mis sold ppi. Does my bankruptcy effect this?

    Mike

If you had PPI then do not use a company, they don't know you had PPI and are just fishing, as you are bankrupt you may not get any compensation back to you but will owe the company a hefty fee plus vat.

If you have PPI and were mis sold, they will tell you what happens with the refund.

    Hi Guys,
Just wanted some general advice really, I have never had any loan so this doesn't apply to me but I want to help my girlfriend.

It's a bit of a weird situation, she was with another guy some years ago who she later found out took a load of credit in her name. Like an idiot (easy to say after the event!!) she has basically paid everything off, with a few hundred quid left to pay - which she plans to pay.

I guess there is a good chance she can claim this PPI, she won't have any idea if she ever had it so I think it would be a lot easier to use a Company. I understand they will charge but something is always better than nothing.

Is there one recommended, no win no fee & charge reasonably?

Plus, on the other matter can she do anything regarding the loans she has paid that she never knew about?

    Thanks in advance!

Your girlfriend needs the account numbers for the loans and the card numbers for the Credit cards.

PPI is shown on the card every month if it was there, if it was, then phone the bank or put a claim in writing.

PPI on loans can be found on the agreements, if there are no agreements then get her to contact the banks and ask for info regarding the PPI on these accounts, if PPI was there then tell her to make the claim.

Your girlfriend will have to do all of the above ( apart from posting the claims in ) if she employs a claims co, and they will charge a hefty % plus vat if PPI is repaid, all a claims co will do is post the letters, your girlfriend does all the fact finding, you will get all the help you need on this site for free, just ask.
  • Hi guys, Has anyone ever managed to reclaim mortgage PPI from The One Account, I contacted them about a mortgage I had with them 3-4 years ago and the admitted over the phone that PPI was included, but said it was a separate form in the paperwork which I signed, not sure that makes a difference to being mis-sold.

Hi guys, I have tried to follow the PPI reclaim guide, however am finding it a bit of a struggle and was hoping that you kind souls could give me some direct advice on the following situation.

I am helping my uncle and aunt who have several credit cards and have been charged PPI for a number of years. They don't speak english very well and cannot remember when they took the cards out whether it was in branch or via mail. They also have large balances outstanding on the cards and one has gone to court. All are with high street banks (Lloyds, Halifax, Natwest). We know that they were charged PPI for all the cards however they can't remember which ones they took out in branch and which by mail and the specifics of the discussion in branch beyond not being told about PPI itself and its relevance to them.

Now I am somewhat confused as have been following the guide and have sent the 2 letters asking for the original Ts&Cs and agreement and the one asking for a breakdown of insurance charges or statements. I have also read on the forums that all of that is irrelevant as you just need to make a complaint. However without being able to clarify which were taken out in branch and which by mail its very difficult to complete the complaint questionnaire so I thought that the requested information would have this detail.

Only Lloyds have replied so far and they have sent the current Ts & Cs, a signed current statement and a reconstituted agreement for one of the cards which is still open and the same minus the current Ts & Cs for an credit card which has gone to court. They have also sent 6 years worth of statements for the closed card.

I am confused as I don't understand how to make the complaint if they cannot remember where the cards were taken out and what was discussed with them when they took out the cards and what they told to the bank and wrote on the forms.

is there any simple way to extract this information from the banks or a method to complete the forms to mitigate this lack of information?

    Many thanks in advance

  • Hi guys,

Hoping someone on here will be able to give me some much needed guidance on reclaiming PPI.

Basically I stupidly applied for a credit card back in 2002 when I was taking a gap year before going to University. I believe PPI was applied right from the start more or less. At this time I was employed, although it was only casual work where I was paid by the hour, no sick pay, holiday pay etc. I then went to University for 4 years and since then have been employed, self employed and unemployed.

At the end of last year I phoned up my credit card to try and get my interest reduced as I was struggling to even make the mimimum payments, and had missed a few. The lady I spoke to told me that the majority of the minimum payment was made up of PPI which I didn't really need, I was unaware of this and so cancelled it immiediately.

So my questions are as follows...

    1. Am I entitled to reclaim PPI even though at the time I was employed? Does it make a difference that this work was more casual work; no contract, only paid for hours worked etc. It was a local family run building firm.
    2. The card dates back to nearly 10 years ago, about half of this time was spent not in full time employment (at University, unemployed, self employed). Would it be possible to claim back for PPI paid during this period, even though when I took out the insurance I was employed.
    3. Does it make a difference that I cancelled the PPI myself at the end of last year, this was as soon as I found out that PPI was optional and was told it was not something I needed.

I'm currently in the middle of filling out the questionaire and want to give myself the best possible chance to get something back as I have had the card for nearly 10 years and the balance has always been in the thousands so any potential repayment could be quite substantial.

How does anyone with more expertise in this area rate my chances???

    Many Thanks, Hildutus

    Hi all.
I have just got my credit report from experian and it shows that I had a CC with HFC bank -start date 27/11/2002, settled date 5/1/2010. I knew I had a CC card that I had paid off but couldn't remember who with :o.

I can't remember the card number or any other details, so how do I go about getting this info to claim back any PPI I paid?
Could I just phone HFC and ask them for the details or do I need to pay them £10 to get it?

    many thanks for any help.
