My partner has had three seperate loans with Alliance Leicester over the last 10 years - they are now all paid off and the paperwork has been shredded. If we contact Santander will they have details of these loans and if so does anyone know what address I should be writing to. I am really clueless about all this.
You could contact Santander and ask if they can find you, they only hold data for the last 6 years so they may not find you.
If you live near a branch then go in and ask or call. 0845 765 4321

I wrote to my credit card (RBS) around 4 months ago, i received documents off them stating they had found details for my credit card account as it was still in my maiden name so they asked for a copy of my marriage certificate. I sent this back to them along with the banks documents that had evidence ticked that i had been paying PPI around 4/5 weeks ago. I called the bank today and they claim they have no information on my account at all regarding a complaint!!. I am very annoyed with them as they have sent me information from them stating i have been paying PPI on my credit card. The boy on the phone was very unhelpful do you know how it is best to go ahead with this complaint, i have wasted a lot of time on this!!.

Looks like you will have to put this claim again, did you send them the info that they asked for by recorded delivery? if you did it is possible it has not got to the department it should yet, if you sent this by normal post then do the claim again, enclose the evidence that they asked for last time.

Give them another call, you may just get someone more helpful.
  • Hi all,

I'm not sure if anyone can give me some advice. I believe we were mis-sold PPI on the sale of a time-share 5 years ago. The actual loan for the time share was from GE Money and the Insurance was covered by Pinnacle. After having sent the completed questionnaire from this site to both Pinnacle and GE Money, I have received responses from both. Pinnacle have stated that the responsibility lies with GE Money, which is fine at the moment. GE Money, on the other hand, have said that they are not responsible for the mis-selling of PPI as they were not present at the point of sale. This is true as we bought the time-share at a sales meeting. They have forwarded our complaint to the time share company and at the moment, I'm not holding my breath. My question is this: Does anybody have any advice, or can anyone point me in the right direction for finding out more information, regarding the ruling on PPI as it relates to a lender who offers the PPI product when said lender is not present at the point of sale? Any help relating to this is greatly appreciated and many thanks in advance!!:)

You should ask how they worked this out.

Thanks, I will do. I have the letter here and it says that £239 is interest and £316 being the ppi. Now I'm 100% sure I paid more than £316 in ppi.

I definitely want to know how they have worked this out so I'm going to contact them tomorrow and see if I get anywhere.

Banks do loans all the time, you can get furniture or a car from a company so the bank "does not have to be there" for you to sign the agreement or take the insurance.
It is the time share people that the claim has to go into.
  • I have had txts & calls from a PPi reclaim company saying I can claim £3600 but I'm not aware of having PPI. How can I find out?
  • I am using a claims company(foolishly) to claim back PPI and they have been quite successful. A recent claim made on Tesco's CC has prompted a letter (not copied to the Claim Company) saying I had ticked the box in a written application accepting PPI therefore I am not eligible for a refund.

Now I ticked the box because I was concerned that if I didnt then I would not get the credit card - is that not a condition to claim?

Also I am suspicious that they have not copied the claim company - your views on this?

    regards

    Nick:)
  • Good morning,
I currently have a Barclaycard credit card which I took out some 20 years ago, and because of this length of time, not having old statements etc. I am not sure if i paid ppi on this, but I seem to recall being told that is was necessary in order to take out the card.
I therefore contacted Barclaycard the other day who informed me there is no ppi on this account, but i was wondering if i should contact them again to ask for any paperwork which supports this, or could they just be spinning me a line to get out of paying up ??
  • Hi. I had a Mackays card which was with Style Financial Services and can see from the old statements I was paying Stylecare, which stupidly I didnt realise or need. Please can anyone tell me if Style still exist and if not who to I put my claim into??? Many thanks

Hi Gooners this will almost certainly be a cmc phising for business, they don't know whether you have ppi or not, steer clear.
