Hi, a friend of my late husband's claimed mis sold PPI of £1,200 from Lloyds TSB relating to his Mum who died in 2000. they acknowledged and issued a cheque made payable to his Mum. He returned it and asked them to redraw in his favour and they now say they want Probate which would cost £800. His Dad was his Mum's direct beneficiary and he died the following year. I think he might have Probate to his Dad's estate but this all seems quite unreasonable. any suggestions, please? For some reason he values my advice but I am quite stumped.

I would have thought as the PPI refund is for someone who is deceased, the bank cannot pay this refund to anyone else without the certificate of probate.

For what to do regarding this, post the question here

There are people on there that know more regarding the probate and can help you more.

Hi there
This is my very first post so bear with me.
In October 2004 I took out a secured loan of £42000 with Paragon which included PPI (total cost approximately £7500). This was despite telling the person on the phone that I have a full time job with excellent sickness, redundancy & 'death in service' packages.
I have subsequently learnt that the PPI only covered the first 5 years of the loan (although i do have a 'cashback' certificate which will refund my payments at the end of the loan period)
I contacted Paragon to tell them I was not happy with the PPI charges & that I am 'locked in' to this deal for another 27 months - I can't claim the PPi back until October 2014.

They have writtren back to me saying that the loan was issued via a broker so is nothing to do with them. They gave me the 'last known addressog Central Capital Limited & suggested I contact this company.

On all the paperwork it is Paragon's name and I spoke to a contact at Paragon a few weks ago he told me that it will be Paragon who pay back the 'cashback' at the end of the loan.

Do I now contact Central Capital or send my complaint about Paragon to the FOS?

Any held / advice much appreciated.

You put the claim into Central Capital, this was Single Premium PPI and this is the reason you use for mis sell, put that the full cost and unfair rebates of the PPI were not fully explained to you at the point of sale as to make an informed decision regarding this PPI.

When you get the PPI back at the loan end date, you do not get the interest that was on this PPI that you paid over the term of the loan.

Hi

I recently contacted Argos Card Services and Santander Cards UK Limited to cancel Insurance on my Argos and Debenhams Store Cards.

I'm not sure if this Insurance is 'PPI' but I have had these Store Cards for years and the Insurance hasn't been needed.

Am I able to claim back what I have paid now that these are cancelled and if so how do I do this please?

Many Thanks

Hi, is anybody else unable to open the 3rd letter? It tells me theres a problem with the format after download, if somebody already has it and wouldnt mind sending it to me on bec_22@hotmail.co.uk i would be hugely greatful.
• Hi,

Heartened by the success stories here I feel inspired to try to claim back PPI which I believe was mis-sold.

I took out a consolidation loan with the Co-op in 2006 which I only recently discovered had PPI (the bank mentioned it during a phone call). I intend to make a claim for this loan. I took out prior loans with Co-op in 2003 and 2005 which also included PPI. The loan taken out in 2005 consolidated debt from the loan taken out in 2003. Should I make one claim to the Co-op for all of these or handle each one separately?

I took out an egg loan in 2005 with PPI but it is now handled by Moorgate rather than egg. Would I contact egg or Moorgate re: reclaiming the PPI?

I appreciate any advice you can give.

Many thanks

I have an egg loan also taken out in 2005 and now with Moorgate. I sent the questionaire to egg and they are dealing with the complaint so i would send it to them first. Good Luck!!

Hey,

I had a loan with a non FSA regulated company in 2004 (loan still active).

The broker has now issued a final response letter saying they can generally only consider complaints about mis selling if made w/I 6 years of date of sale.

I assume this is just a fob off letter, should I be returning to them re s32 LA1980?

Thanks

Have you asked the company for the terms and conditions, was it a Sar request or just the agreement for £1.

The agreement will be of no use to you as PPI on cards could have been added at a later date and if the account is closed they do not have to provide you with anything for the £1 request.

If you have the card numbers and reasons for mis sell then put the claim in.

If you have not got any info then ask for all info they hold on you and enclose £10 per bank.

It was just the agreement for £1 i put through. I will give thought to the Sar one. I have quite a few to check out and request so it could be costly with no result.

Use the ombudsmans questionnaire to send to the company and make a copy in case you have to go to FOS later.
Where it asks "why do you think you were mis sold this product ", you put that this was a Single Premium PPI that was put on the loan to term end with interest and you were not told the full cost of this policy or the unfair rebates at the point of sale.
If you win the PPI and the interest is given back to you plus the 8% you need to be
"put back into the position that you would have been had the PPI not been added to the loan", this takes care of the interest.

QUOTE]

Ive already previously sent this questionnaire to them do i fill it in again and put this in the new one?

What is the position with a c/c which you applied for via a leaflet through the post and you ticked yes for PPI and never had a conversation with any salesperson (no suitability issues).

Are the chances of success slim to none?
