Complained may 12th rcd a letter yesterday saying due to high levels of claims they will take an ADDITIONAL 8 weeks to assess my single premium front loaded ppi claim? What cn I do to speed this up? Anything? Are they allowed to do this? Help!
There is not a lot you can do, let them get on with it and if you hear before the 8 weeks then that is a bonus, the FOS can take up to a year so 8 weeks is not long in the grand scheme of things x.0 -
Hi everyone, hope I am on the right board!
I need some advice please
in 2005 my Husband and I took out a £25000 mortgage with Future
The original agreement has a section saying optional insurance WILL be added to the account but the percentage field is left blank and they are now saying that we did not take out PPI but as there was no box on the same form to opt out of the said scheme so how can they deny this
I have read many posts about these rip-off merchants who are now incidentally no longer doing Mortgages but are being looked after by Citibank who wrote to us
I am tempted to write now to FOS but just want your thoughts?
Any advice from anyone with knowledge of Future Mortages would be gratefully received

Please help,
I received a responce today from MBNA credit card services stating that I cancelled the PPI policy prior to the card being used and therefore no insurance was ever applied to the account. I clearly remember on one occassion the minimum payment being £40 due to a charge of £20 for ppi being added to the monthly statement. My minimum payment had literally doubled and that's why I chose to cancel the policy. Where do I go from here. Do I SAR them, write back and request the documentation they have based their decision on or go straight for FOS.
Thank you in advance for any advice

If the PPI does not show on the agreement then it is not there, because it shows will be "added" then it does not mean that it has.
There should be the loan amount and the interest and the PPI amount on the agreement, did you pay the loan amount and monthly payment back each month, or did you pay more than what is on the agreement?.
If you paid more then do a Sar asking for all info they hold on you.0 -

I have been reading through the Ts&Cs as directed in the main website, but I can see no explicit references to my having a PPI policy associated with the many credit cards and loans myself and my partner have had in the recent past. Does this mean that I cannot claim? Is it possible that the PPI is implied and not referenced in the paperwork?
Thank you.0 -
Hi there,
I have read through a lot of Ts&Cs for the various bank loans and credit cards myself and my partner have had in the recent past. I can see no reference to PPI charges or services anywhere in most, and 0.00 charge in 1 of them. Does this mean that there is no point in trying to reclaim? I just wondered whether PPI was somehow implied and, say, included in interest figures or something.
Any response greatly appreciated. Thank you.0 -
Hi Ammersall
I know you are very clued up re FirstPlus, don't know if you can remember, this was one of the 3 items I had sent to the [STRIKE]daylight robbery[/STRIKE] claims company before finding more paperwork & doing the rest myself.:money:.
I checked through the FP agreement last night, no signatures, just the actual customer copy & cannot see ppi on it anywhere, only interest & admin fee. You said you found it hard to believe there wouldn't be ppi on a FP loan.
Original loan was 16.5000
96 Repayments of £247.81
Interest from memory (posting from work) was 8.9%.
I am today sending off Argos details to FOS, don't hold out much hope but hey its worth a try.:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

Dont know if anyone else has had this but thought I would ask on here. Had a reply from Santander cards today. I sent off the questionnaire as per Martin's advice stating that I was missold PPI when I took out a store card because the person dealing with me informed me that PPI would help my application be accepted. Today they have written back to say that the PPI was optional (I didnt feel that it was at the time), that I signed for it (I did but only because I thought it would help my application) and that they operated a non advice selling policy, so that would be why my personal circumstances werent taken into account. (I work full time, have 12 months sick pay and a generous redundance package so definitely did not require PPI). They also said that they sent me a copy of the Policy and I had a 30 day cooling off period so the onus was on me to cancel (I dont ever recall receiving the Policy). Has anyone else come across this and what did you do. Because they have referred me to the Ombudsman, i am taking this as a final response and have prepared my forms for the Ombudsman. Just wondered if anyone else had had a similar situation, did you go to the Ombudsman or resolve it another way. I am darned sure I was mis sold PPI, just because of the pressure I was under to sign. Any help gratefully appreciated.0
