I had a mortgage from Abbey National which was paid in full in approx 2004 and I want to know if I can re-claim PPi

Only if it you were missold a PPI policy.

Did you actually have a policy and, if so, why do you think it was missold?

    Hi,

After putting 2 claims in with barclaycard on the 15th of this month I received a letter from Barclays Dublin insurance (apparently this is who I spoke to through the call centre) Letter stated my complaint had been logged but I would have to deal with Barclaycard direct in future. Rang barclaycard this morning and they had no record of the complaint and Ive had to file another one this morning, then would be sent a questionaire. Bit odd as the last complaint was took over the phone and then was told I would get the standard 'sorry for the inconvience' caused letter which I didnt get. Bit annoyed as its took 2 weeks to get this far.

Should I contact the person I origninally spoke to at Barclays Dublin?
PPI Claims won £3000:j now free of all credit card debt after 10 years.

Will I win my Lloyds battle!!!

Currently saving for our wedding and what seems like a million other things":)
  • Hi everybody, I have been reading posts and taking advice from them for several weeks now and due to that I filled out the questionnaire and sent two of them to Lloyds TSB, one for a £1000 loan back in 2005 and one for my Credit Card which I have had since 1998. I received a letter back just acknowledging and advising it will take up to 8 weeks to get back to me. After 6 weeks (last week) I got a telephone call from a man at Lloyds asking me to explain to him in my own words why I thought I had been mis-sold my PPI.

I explained to him that in both cases I felt that if I didn't take it I would get rejected for both the loan and the card. In the case of the loan the lady on the phone didn't even give me the instalment amounts without the PPI. I was not questioned about my work, my health, whether I had sufficient cover at all and the policy was not explained to me at all. I also explained that my employer has always given me a long term sickness benefit and a good redundancy package if the worst was to happen. The role I am in always gets good benefits. In fact, while I had the loan I was made redundant and I thought I might as well claim and they wouldn't let me. They told me I had to "sign on" to be eligible. I told them that I had contacts in the industry and would have another job within a couple of months and I wouldn't sign on so they wouldn't pay out. This proves that I didn't need the insurance as if I had needed the money I would have signed on to get it!

Anyway, I received a letter on Saturday regarding the credit card from Lloyds saying that they are rejecting my claim and all the way through it seems to be based on the assessors opinion. At one point he says that at no point was company procedure to refuse credit if PPI wasn't taken and so in his opinion this wasn't the case. I did not say that it was company procedure, I said it was how the operative made me feel?! I am furious because my credit card is £6000 and has always been maxed out and I have had it since 1998! I know they are trying to get out of paying me.

He has said that I have 28 days to get back to him with additional evidence and then he will close the file. And if I wanted to I can go to the FOS.

I am so fed up - when the bank charges thing happened, everybody I knew got paid straight away by their banks - I put in a claim with Lloyds, they put it on hold and then never paid out. Everybody seems to be getting their PPI back but no, Lloyds reject my claim???? What is it about Lloyds and me??

Any advice anybody? It would be so much appreciated.
